WHAT IT IS
Organization Mandate
Centre 507 is an adult drop-in centre and support service, open
to all who seek a safe and friendly environment. Serving Ottawa
since 1983, the centre is at 507 Bank Street near the corner of
Argyle. From informal conversations to structured programs,
Centre 507 helps people in Ottawa address challenges and
improve their lives.

The Life Management Skills Program includes:
• one-on-one personal support
• referrals and advocacy with other service agencies
• a money management program
• placements as cooks and cleaners within the Centre
• connections to potential employers, on the job training
• resume-writing
• managing emotions
• cooking classes and nutrition on a budget, crafting

OTHER PROGRAMS
Health services - A partner of the City of Ottawa’s SITE program; offers needle exchange
and crack pipe kits, along with rehabilitation advice and referrals. Outreach workers from
the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Royal Ottawa Hospital, SITE, Centretown
Community Health Centre and Housing Help visit regularly; provide on-site flu shot clinics,
foot care clinics, and testing for HIV, TB and hepatitis.

Street outreach services - Centre 507 is funded through the Provincial Community
Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI) to provide street outreach services.

Rooming house tenant support program - Works in collaboration with the Rooming
House Tenant Support Worker at The Well; offers direct client outreach services to
stabilize tenancy and address multiple challenges for participants in rooming houses.

Recreation services - Participants take part in creative social events, supplemented by
annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
