WHAT IT IS
Organization Mandate
Jewish Family Services of Ottawa (JFS) is a full service, nonsectarian agency serving residents of the greater Ottawa area.
We offer more than 65 programs and services to children, youth,
adults and seniors, be they individuals, couples, families or
groups.

JFS Employment - Provides comprehensive coaching assistance to the unemployed,
underemployed, international and local students and those who do not have a clear
identification of career goals, in order that they become job-ready and proactive.

Job Search Workshops (for newcomers) - Part of the LASI consortium.
Eligibility Criteria: Permanent residents, convention refugees or live in caregivers.
Summer Jobs for Youth Program - Through Youth Services Bureau, JFS supports
immigrant youth with no work experience in finding a six-week job placement over
the summer, and provides basic pre-employment training.

Networking4Youth - Community-based resource to support young job seekers in their
search for employment; helps them better assess and respond to market changes.

OTHER PROGRAMS
JFS Tikvah Program - Offers a variety of financial assistance initiatives for Jewish
clients under the umbrella of the Tikvah Program. Those below the poverty line who
qualify will receive support, assistance and case management.
