Christian Stewardship
As a parish we are blessed with many different ministries: a quality parish school, and a very well
attended religious education program, and growing prison ministry. All of these ministries require a
significant investment of personnel and money. Many benefits, such as health care and retirement,
are beyond our control. To help with our expenses I would ask each parishioner to consider
increasing his or her contribution to the Sunday collection. It would help us significantly if we could
replace the “Georges” in the collection basket with “Abrahams”, “Alexanders”, and “Andrews”.

Tuesday Morning Meditation Group
Please join us for prayer and meditation
11-11:45AM
St. Mary’s Hall
We had our final iServe meeting last week and I can
say with confidence that the year was a resounding success.
Although we have always stressed service at Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel School, this is the first year for the iServe group.
iServe was founded when an 8th grade student and his mom
set out to find a way to bring kids together to fight social
injustice and spread kindness throughout the community.
Come see if meditation is something you’d like to
practice. All are welcome and no experience is
necessary! This year we will continue meeting through
the summer. Come join us. For more information,
contact Mary Montgomery at 215-794-8207.
Altar Servers of the Year
In total, 83 students from all grades cleaned gardens,
roads, cars and the school gym. They prepared food,
scarves, centerpieces, blankets, cards, gift bags, first aid
kits, Easter baskets and lollipop flowers. They collected
school supplies, gently used and new gift items, Christmas
presents, socks, canned food, toiletries, Legos and books.
They hosted a breakfast with Santa for kids with cancer, a
free Christmas shopping event for needy kids to give gifts to
their families and the opening ceremony for the MLK day of
service.
Congratulations and many thanks to our altar servers
of the 2014-2015 school year!

On the final day of service, the students decided to
offer free car washes to the faculty. A woman
passing by pulled in to the line, not realizing
that it was a gift to the teachers. When she
found out, she offered to pay for the car wash
but was waved through free of charge. She
was so delighted that she snapped pictures
from inside her car and thanked the students
profusely as they gave her a carnation and
wished her a good day. She wrote to the Bucks Herald to
spread the news of how our students made her day.
Although she felt lucky that day, the true winners were the
students who saw clearly how their kindness impacted the
driver.

Sheila was born and raised in Southern

Sheila is the director of the CYO
Volleyball program, co-lead for children’s Sunday
ministry, and a Home and School Board Member. As
Sheila has been working with several aspects of the
parish community, she would like to pursue a role on
the parish council. There is great momentum
happening at OLMC, and Sheila feels her experiences
in a corporate job combined with her involvement in
the parish community as a whole, as well as her high
energy passion make her a viable candidate for the
parish council.
John Neves
John and his wife Connie are members
of OLMC parish since 1989. OLMC has
been and still is an important part of
their lives. John is a faculty member in
the Management department at the
College of New Jersey and has served
on the board of several local non-profit organizations.
In his professional capacity he has had the opportunity

WHY IS IT
A man wakes up after sleeping
under an ADVERTISED blanket
on an ADVERTISED mattress
and pulls off ADVERTISED pajamas
bathes in an ADVERTISED shower
shaves with an ADVERTISED razor
brushes his teeth
with ADVERTISED toothpaste
washes with ADVERTISED soap
puts on ADVERTISED clothes
drinks a cup
of ADVERTISED coffee
drives to work
in an ADVERTISED car
and then . . . .
refuses to ADVERTISE
believing it doesn’t pay.
Later if business is poor
he ADVERTISES it for sale.
WHY IS IT?
