A Message from the Program Manager
AUM’s summer youth programs have provided
educational enrichment opportunities for K5-12 students
for over 25 years. Our mission is simple: instill the joy
of learning without the pressure of grades or tests in an
environment in which students learn by doing. We are
very selective in the hiring of certified K5-12 classroom
teachers to instruct in our summer programs. We all
learn best and retain the most when we are having fun.
We create experiences in which students have FUN! Our
students build and program rockets and robots; they
create video games, jewelry, movies, stories, poems, and
visual works of art; they get their hands dirty learning
to become master gardeners and scientists; and they
explore ancient worlds and learn what paleontologists
really do. This method of learning truly motivates students
to become lifelong learners.
Our goals are to:
• Continue/extend the learning process through
the summer, which helps bridge the summer gap.
• Keep students’ brains active.
• Instill the joy of learning without the pressure
of grades, benchmarks, or tests.
• Motivate students to learn.
We have lots of cool/fun programs. After looking through
this catalog, you will have a list a mile long of what you
would like to do this summer. Find out how to register
now, save money, and stay within your budget by reading
about our Early Bird Discount and Payment Plan on page
18.
I look forward to another fun summer and hope you will
join us!
Sincerely,
2
Rebecca Bloodworth
