For June 2015
Passing the Torch
This will be my last View From the Dome article. The time has come to pass the torch, as they
say, on to a new administration. Although I admit that I will miss being in the limelight (being an
old ham and all), a certain part of me (the lazy part) looks forward to kicking back and relaxing
after handing the responsibility and cares of office over to the very competent and experienced
hands of Jeff Madzia. I can think of a number of members in our congregation who are well
qualified to lead us but I know of no one who seems more suited to lead us for the next year, or
two. Jeff will bring a friendliness, coupled with his experience, that can only help attract new
members and grow our congregation in the year or years to come.
Before leaving you, I want to thank all of you who have helped me these last two years. I wish
Jeff and the other new officers all the best. It has been a real honor to have served our
congregation for the last two years.

This will be a pep talk as to how we UUs can come to recognize and celebrate the diversity
within our congregation, because we all bring personal expectations, preferences and
perspectives; our “stuff.” Presented by Rev. Renee Waun.
