LOGISTICS NOTE
The Department of Political Affairs of the African Union will be hosting for Southern Africa Region
for the Development of a Common African Position on Humanitarian Effectiveness to be
submitted to the World Humanitarian Summit, Istanbul, Turkey 2016.
The meeting is residential and includes accommodation travel package for participants.
Participants are therefore required to stay at the accommodation facilities provided at Midrand
Conference Centre. Partners will be responsible for their own accommodation expenses, however
special rates have been negotiated at Midrand Hotel Conference Centre.

Arrival and Departure of Participants: The meeting will start on the 27th May, and finish on the
29th May. Participants are advised to arrive in Midrand on the 26th May 2015 and depart on the
30th May 2015.
Transport: For AU sponsored delegations air tickets have already been sent to sponsored
participants except those covered by their respective organizations.
Local transportation will be provided for all participants from the airport to the hotel on the arrival
and departure dates. Any other transportations related to the meeting will also be provided.
Visa: Participants are required normally to obtain their own visas in order to get into Midrand.
Notwithstanding, the African Union Commission has delivered a Note Verbal to all participants so
as to facilitate the issuance of visa upon arrival at the Johannesburg airport upon presentation of
this document. The government of South Africa will be informed of your arrival.
Nutrition: Breakfast is included in your rooms during the duration of your stay at the hotel. For
Lunch, the African Union Commission will provide DSA at the AU, which will enable you to pay
for your accommodation and nutrition during the meeting.
Internet: Internet connection is available at the meeting venue.
Concept Note, Agenda, and Publications & Presentations: All the working documents will be
provided before the meeting in the two languages (English and Portuguese)
