Darcy’s Dilemma!
Darcy, the good math fairy, has been talking equations, integers, and
polyhedrons so much that it’s driving Chris, the nasty English teacher,
over the edge. Naturally, he has implanted a mind-controlling device in
her brain, rendering her in a blabbering, zombie-like state until one of
her caring students speaks the “release code” into her ear. You, yes
you, could be that special student if you can determine the code from
the question below!
What is the last term in this five-term sequence?

Inhale Deep
Volume 2, Issue 8
Student Poem
by Xandra Leigh
Inhale Deep. Slowly. Breathe.
If you just let yourself you could find the peace
that you seek,
And if you could just be brave. If you could just
be brave.
IF YOU COULD JUST BE BRAVE.
You wouldn’t feel so weak.
So take a deep breath because death has missed
you.
Take a deep breath because the sun will kiss you
in the morning.
The little stray rays of sunlight are performing for
you.
A symphony. Literally. Just listen.
As bits of light seep in through the curtain do not
be uncertain of the words.
If you are, let the songs of the early birds guide
you.
Let them be the antidote to your poisons,
As you stretch and roll around making baby dinosaur noises.
It is morning. You have lived to see another day.
So take a minute to revel in it,
Before you lose yourself in what everyone else
has to say.
You have the power to inhale deep. You have the
power to keep pushing.
So keep thriving because you have been surviving and you are here!
You made it! So why are you not elated? Revel in
your triumph.
Inhale deep because you will never sit down and
take it.
And although you’ve had to fake it so many
times,
Inhale deep because you, are doing fine.

Need a nice dress for grad?
Check out Karla’s Closet.
Wearable Art: Students in Micky’s class designed artsy attire for the
Wearable Art and Runway Challenge, held at Market Hall on April
25th. (Above: Liz Bartley models Amber Worr’s design.)
Evelyn Collins’ daughter-in-law, Karla, died of brain cancer
three years ago. She was 32 years old—vibrant, generous,
compassionate and stylish—beautiful inside and out, with
two beautiful little girls. With the help of Karla’s husband,
Evelyn donated her dresses to girls in need at James Strath,
and from there she and Amber Stark decided to start Karla's Closet. Since
then many people have donated fancy, elegant dresses for special occasions. Karla, who was a police officer with the Ottawa Police Service and
who loved to help others, has left a beautiful legacy. If you would like to
select a dress, free of charge, for this year’s grad, see Nancy as soon as
you can in Rm. 106. Also, view dresses at
