Citizens of EU Member States do not need a permit (visa or residence permit) to enter the Republic of Slovenia. For all stays in Slovenia shorter than three months, these citizens only need to register at the nearest police station. If their stay in the Republic of Slovenia will be longer than three months, citizens of EU Member States will require a residence permit. They must apply for the permit at the Administrative Unit of the region where they will reside (for Ljubljana: The Ljubljana Administrative Unit – Internal Administrative Affairs Division, The Section for Foreigners, Tobačna ulica 5) before the expiry of the threemonth period of permitted residence. Residence permits are issued for a maximum of one year or for the duration of the study, if the study lasts more than one year. Foreign citizens not from any of the EU Member States coming to the Republic of Slovenia for study, specialisation, professional improvement or practical training purposes will be issued temporary residence permits. Temporary residence permits for study purposes (along with permits for first residence and the extension of the residence permits) are issued at the requests of the foreign citizen. They need to prove that (this applies to the Republic of Slovenia): • they were accepted into a study programme, for specialisation, professional improvement, practical training or any other form of education or that they will participate in any other programmes that are not part of the formal education system, • they possess a valid travel document that is valid for at least three months longer than their intended residence in the Republic of Slovenia, • they possess appropriate health insurance, • they have sufficient means of subsistence for the duration of their residence in the country. Our aim is to help you find the property most suited to your needs as easily and as quickly as possible. We know how important it is to find the right student accommodation in order that you can relax and enjoy a full social and academic life. We therefore endeavour to provide a comprehensive and constantly changing database of private accommodation, so that you can make an informed choice. Useful Instructions Room with shared use of the bathroom and kitchen: from EUR 110 to 250 per month plus costs. There is a high demand for accommodation in September and October, which also raises the prices. When arranging private accommodation make sure that you have a clear understanding of costs as you are often expected to pay additional monthly expenses after rent (e.g. water, electricity). A deposit or advance payment for a few months is required by most owners. Private accomodation and Youth Hostels If you will stay in Ljubljana for a short period of time, we advise you to book private or some temporary accommodation. Studio or a one-bedroom flat: from EUR 290 to 400 per month plus costs. There are options for private accomodation close to the school. In each room or apartmant there is a bed, table, wardrobe, blankets, a kitchen and a bathroom. Privat accomodation: from EUR 600 to 900, costs and breakfast included. When renting a room, water, electricity and heating bills are sometimes included in the rent, or are divided by the number of persons living in the apartment. ANDREJEVIC director of education During her career, Ms. Andrejevic gained much experiences from different areas of make-up profession cinema, theater, advertising and fashion industry. Since 1997, Ms. Andrejevic has worked with directors, movie makers, fashion designers and photographers, such as Patrice Leconte, Laurence Dunmore, Paul Marcus, Claude Genton, Brian Baderman, Michel Meyer, Mathilde Jouannet, Eric Woreth, Edouard Deluc, Frank Devos and many others. Ms. Andrejevic was educated at Joe Blasco Makeup Artist training center in Hollywood, CA in the field of professional make-up artistry, special effects and prosthetics. She was tought by many Oscar winner makeup artists as Greg Cannom, Dick Smith, Ronnie Specter and others as Gill Moscow, Matthew Mungle, Tom Thies and Justin Raleigh. As Head of Make up Departmant Ms. Andrejevic created makeup and special effects, included prosthetics for 22 movies, many theatre performances, music videos, glossy magazines as Elle, Cosmopolitan, Gloss, more than 800 international and Slovenian advertising campaigns for clients as Loreal, Garnier, Nivea, Rowenta, Braun, Coca - Cola, Adidas, Sony, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Mc Donalds, Finlandia and many others. For the last two seasons Ms. Andrejevic was the creative head of make up artists at Philips Fashion Week. Ms. Andrejevic has worked with celebrities as Kevin Costner, Max von Sidow, Geraldine Chaplin, Dianne Rigg and many others. In 2008 she decided to share her knowledge with younger generations. In addition to her make up education, Ms. Andrejevic completed an instructor training. She founded Make-Up Artist Center and has created many educational programs. She continues to develop herself professionally by taking courses in instructional methodology and by working as an artist in the advertising, fashion and television industry. RENATA NOVAK school director Ms. Novak is a school director at Make Up Artist Center. In 1999 she gratuated at Faculty for Social Sciences, majoring in marketing communication. Her desire for new knowledge has led to further studiy of Entrepreneurship and in 2011 she finished her Master Degree at Gea College. In her career she worked in different fields, starting in Advertising Agency. Ms. Novak worked in media department and account department, for different clients (L’oreal, Nestle, Coca Cola, Hervis, Spar, SVEA, Citroen, ARC and others), which gave her knowledge in different categories. She was responsible for media budgets, production budgets as well as brand strategies. She worked in a team on a daily basis. Besides advertising Ms. Novak also worked for many years in the field of brand management. She was brand manager at GlaxoSmithKline for OHC brands (Aquafresh, Corega and others) for Adriatic region. After that Ms. Novak find her passion in the cosmetic business, where she was a brand manager for selective cosmetic brand Juvena and La Prairie. Before joining the MUAC team she was Category Manager for cosmetic in biggest Slovenian retailer Mercator. Ms. Novak was always dedicated to good cooperation among people she worked with. She enjoys to share her knowledge and ideas with her team and supports new development. Make Up Artist Center ׀99 BARNEY NIKOLIC lead SFX instructor After qualifying as a hairdresser in 1975, Mr. Nikolic pursued a career as a make-up artist and was awarded a two year apprenticeship as a make-up artist student with the Hagen Opera, Germany (Städtische Bühnen Hagen) under the direction of Harald Klute in 1984. A hair stylist, make-up artist and sculptor by trade, he quickly made a name for himself as specialist for theatre make-up, character make-up, special effects and prosthetics. Following successful qualification, recognized by the German Stage Association, Mr. Nikolic continued his career in Hagen, being appointed principal make-up artist in 1987. Further contracts followed in Germany with the State Theatre, Hanover (Niedersächsische Staatstheater, Hannover) commencing 1988. In 1994 Mr. Nikolic acted as production manager of the make-up departmant, before being appointed Department Head in 1999. He held this position for three years before moving to Berlin, where in September 2003 he was able to found his own company, “Barney’s FX Make-up Berlin.” Mr. Nikolic takes a great pleasure in passing on his knowledge and acquired skills to eager make-up students and fellow colleagues. During his career at the State Theatre, Hanover Mr. Nikolic was responsible for the make-up artistry tuition within the department. Since 1994 he has lectured regularly at the international make-up seminars held in Cologne, Germany and is a senior member of the adjoining board of examiners; the exams themselves and consequent qualification being recognized by the German Stage Association. In January 2001 Mr. Nikolic was invited by the “Federal Institute for Careers Structure” to assist as a senior advisor with the compilation of a national schooling curriculum for make-up artist students. Today he holds lectures on special FX make-up, including practical participation in conjunction with leading make-up manufacturers and is a regular guest tutor at the London Brushstroke make-up artist’s school. In 2012 he became lead SFX instructor at Make Up Artist Center. Mr. Nikolic bio includes working on movie sets, for TV and the stage. In the movie business, Mr. Nikolic is renowned for his work on films such as Blood Rayne, Around the World in 80 Days and Harry Potter.W BERNHARD KLINGLMAIR Beauty, HD and Airbrush make up instructor Mr. Klinglmair is a professionally trained makeup artist with more than 25 years of experiences in commercial, fashion, runway, film, television and print. His national and international assignments have brought him together with top photographers, film makers and music artists around the world. Originally from Austria, Mr. Klinglmair is currently based in Germany and London. In 1985, Mr. Klinglmair embarked on his career in Vienna. He was trained at Guerlain´s Makeup School in Paris upon graduating, worked for Estee Lauder. In 1986, he was asked by their headquarters to promote their new makeup line “Signature” across the States. Back in Europe, Mr. Klinglmair focused on a freelance career and was booked for the fashion shows in Milan, Italy and Paris, France. 100 ׀Make Up Artist Center Jil Sander, Jean Paul Gaultier, Yohji Yamamoto, Bogner for example trusted his work. After the Iron Curtain came down, Berlin transformed into a creative melting pot. Young and wild talents were welcome – so Bernhard decided: That´s where he wanted to be! Mr. Klinglmair ´s extensive knowledge has been depicted in various high profile print and commercial campaigns for clients such as Coca-Cola and MTV. His editorial makeup and hair techniques have been featured in magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Glamour. Although his name may seem untouchable and iconic, Mr. Klinglmair is a teacher at heart and shares the personal insights that have made him an expert in his profession. EINAT DAN Beauty and Fashion make up instructor Ms. Dan started to makeup her friends when she was only 11 years old. What started as a hobby became a passion and this passion turned into a magical and colorful profession filled with amazing adventures, learning experiences and lots of new opportunities. At the age of 20 Ms. Dan decided to follow her dream and started her career as a makeup artist in Tel Aviv. After two years she moved to New York, where she was mostly working as a special effects make up artist and body painter for TV, film, theater and advertising. Her passion led her to the fashion capital of the world Milan, Italy. From there Ms. Dan practices her art as one of the leading makeup artist in the industry of fashion, beauty and body painting. Ms. Dan is continuously working for glossy magazines as Vogue Sposa, Rève, Posh, Maxim, Instyle,Trucco and Bellezza, Goia, Tatler Hong Kong and participates at fashion shows all over the world. In Ms. Dan’s successful career it is possible to find collaboations with great names as Valentino, Morellato, Oxus, Gian Marco Venturi, Dalumi, Sikkens, Fendi and numerous awards in professional makeup contests. First prize at the Cannes festival for the best fashion photography, created by photographer Raphael Herman in cooperation with Ms. Dan for Vivien Westwood, multiple winner of numerous body painting competitions, awarded as the best coach in the professional make up for three consecutive years, multiple guest lecturer at the world-renowned make-up Shows (IMATS, The Make Up Show). Ms. Dan works as an instructor since 2000. She teaches in the field of Beauty makeup and is mainly focused in extreme fashion and haute couture. She has been cooperated with various schools around the world from Germany, Italy, Austria, Israel, Russia to Taiwan and Korea. In 2012 she joined Make Up Artist Center as Fashion make up instructor. KUNO SCHLEGELMILCH Mr. Schlegelmilch is an artist with than 40 years of working experiences. In his career he worked with John Malkovich, Dustin Hoffman, Huge Grant, Tom Hanks, Mila Jovovich, Faye Dunaway and others. Mr. Schlegelmilch was educated in the field of make-up, wig making, hairstyling, SFX and prosthetics. He began his career in the Thalia Theater and was later principal at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Masker, Hamburg. In parallel, Mr. Schlegelmilch was creating a career in film industry and was celebrated with the work on the movies as The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, Queen Margot, an award winning film Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train. He created more than 200 characters for the lates Cloud Atlas movie in cooperation with The Matrix’s directors. The versatile artist has spent the eighties in Paris theaters and operas, where he created many works for the Théâtre Mogador, Opéra Comique, Opéra National de Paris, Palais Garnier, Théâtre des Amandiers de Nanterre, Comédie Française, Théâtre de Bobigny, Théâtre du Rond Point, Théâtre Edouard VII, Théâtre des Champs Elysées ... Make Up Artist Center ׀101 BORUT NOVAK MATIAS SISKA Hair instructor Hair instructor Mr. Novak is a skilled hair stylist with over 17 years of experiences in combining the fashionable with the everyday, creating catwalk collaborations, working in advertising, film and television. After formal education he expand his knowledge and skills at Vidal Sassoon and Tony & Guy’s academies. In his career it is possible to count working at many fashion shows and Fashion Week’s, creating hairstyles for fashion editorials, some world famous fashion magazines and celebrities as Andie Macdowell. Clients as Pantene, Braun, Garnier, Laura Biagiotti, Neutogena, Sony Ericcson, Mc Donalds and Diesel trusted his talent in advertising industry. Mr. Novak is a co-founder of the art team Mič styling, one of the most succesfull national teams and cream de la cream of national hair salons. Mr. Novak has more than 10 years experiences as an educator. He educates professionals across the Europe (Austria, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia ...) and in the USA. With more than a decade of experience as a professional hair stylist, it is Mr. Siska’s passion to create unrivalled hair styles for fashion editorials, catwalk shows and commercial industry. His original and breath taking looks led to a great demand for his indulgent design ideas which have been used in many international campaigns as Pantene PRO-V, Diesel, Sony Ericsson, Julius Meinl, Marx and others as well as numerous covers and editorials for fashion magazines as Elle, Trucco e Belezza, Cosmopolitan, Gloss and others. Mr. Siska has been repeatedly working in fashion and advertising industry mainly in Berlin, Milan and Slovenia. He is a creative head of hairdressers at Philips Fashion Week for the past three years. ANA LAZOVSKI Beauty instructor Ms. Lazovski is an instructor and experienced make-up artist with more than 10 years of experiences. The desire to explore and discover was inherent in her sense of aesthetics which then turned into a desire to work with her hands. Ms. Lazovski has worked for a number of campaigns for Slovenian and Croatian fashion designers, as well as on fashion editorials, advertising campaigns, and fashion shows. She has also created the corporate identity of some well-known media figures. Consistent presence in the Slovenian fashion arena has gained her much acclaim in print media. Ms. Lazovski has cooperated with many domestic photographers, her work appealed in fashion magazines as English’s i-D. With graduation at Make Up Artist Center, Ms. Lazovski’s creativity was solidified with technical skills. Since she finished her education, she has been engaged in International Commercial Production. Recently Ms. Lazovski found her passion in theater. KRISTINA PAVLOV Beauty make up instructor Ms. Pavlov is a professionally trained makeup artist and a beauty consultant for the cosmetic industry with more than10 years of experiences in print, cinema, tv, video, theater, fashion, runway and body painting. Ms. Pavlov holds a Bachelor in Physiotherapy from the University of Applied Health Studies. After realizing her passion for the make up craft, she subsequently trained at the Callegari - Italian School of Fashion and Design and J.P. Fleurimon- School of Professional Makeup in Paris, France. Ms. Pavlov has worked for major cosmetics companies including Chanel and Illamasqua. Later she became interested in different medias and developed a strong background in fashion and print. MAJA DRAB Beauty make up instructor Ms. Drab always strive to introduce creativity into her life, seeking it in every facet of her expression. Having a well defined sense for beauty and aesthetics she keeps constant track of fashion, make-up and the newest trends. She continuously invests in acquiring new knowledge, gathering new experiences from various fields of expertise, and professional development. Ms. Drab graduated from the School of fashion and photography as Fashion designer. She was introduced to the fashion world through modeling, which also took her to Milan in her early years, where she had the opportunity to work closely with make-up artists and other fashion experts. Having been immensely inspired by their work, she developed keen interest for the art of make-up. As make up artist Ms. Drab was trained at London Academy of freelance makeup -AOFM.
