And we know you want to keep those skills sharp! Recent studies have shown than many children lose almost 50% of their reading comprehension abilities over the summer break. There is an easy way to keep that from happening to you. Read! We are so lucky to have such fine community libraries. Many of them have summer reading programs and clubs. So take advantage of your resources and have fun reading! Physical Examinations Sooner than you know it, we will be starting our academic year! All children entering Kindergarten and First Grade must have a current physical examination. This is a very important requirement. Please make sure all forms (which are available in the office) are returned prior to the start of school. Fire Safety We wish you all a very happy Fourth of July! Please have a wonderful and safe holiday. What a perfect time to practice fire safety with your family. Together, discuss your exit plans and where you will meet. Preparation and planning can help us deal more efficiently with emergency situations. We will be CLOSED on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day. 5 In The Swim Swimming is a part of our Summer Program. All students, Pre-school through Sixth grade, will have the chance to use the pool during their scheduled times. Water safety skills will be taught along with the basic stroke techniques. Please supply your child with a swim bag for their bathing suit and towel. Make sure your child’s name is clearly marked on all items. Simple rules to follow: 1. Walk, do not run! 2. Diving is not allowed. 3. Please put your clothes in your bag while you are swimming, not on the floor. 4. Use low voices-remember, others are in class. 5. Swimsuits only, no shorts are allowed in the pool. Happy Independence Day! In honor of Independence Day, Page Private School will be closed on Friday, July 3rd. We hope that all of you have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July. Field Trip Reminders 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Sign up early. Space is limited. Be sure your child wears closed toe shoes. If spending money is allowed, all money is turned into the office and given to your child’s teacher. Make sure your child is on campus at least 20 minutes before the trip is scheduled to leave. Page T-Shirts are a must! They help the staff identify their group of children quickly and give the children a feeling of pride. 6. Be prepared for a fun day! Field Trips are not only fun, but we can learn many things as a group. Summer Dress Code Although the traditional school uniform is not required during the summer session, students are expected to 6 observe good taste in casual dress. Closed toe, rubber soled shoes (tennis shoes) are allowed. For safety reasons, sandals are not permitted.
