Each presentation was well thought out, well presented and taught me something new~well done everyone! McDonald’s Night Donation: Thank you to everyone who came to McDonald’s Night, we were able to raise a significant amount of money to donate to a charity connected to a family or families at Smith School. This year, the donation will go to the Martin Richard Foundation, in honor of Martin Richard, who is the cousin of a kindergarten student, Myles Hernandez. NEW VISITOR ID SYSTEM: The Danvers Public Schools has recently been awarded a Safety Grant through the Executive Office of Education. Through the grant we are able to purchase new visitor ID systems. When arriving at school you will be asked to provide your license, from which a visitor ID with your picture will be printed for you to wear. After providing your license during your first visit, the system will save your information. This procedure has been successfully implemented at Danvers High School for the past 2 years. As always, we continue to look for ways to enhance our safety measures throughout the Danvers Public Schools. We thank you for your cooperation. REMINDERS: Warm weather is coming! Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for school. It is important that our students be able to move about comfortably and safely while they play and work! Proper footwear: make sure students are not wearing flip flops or heels to school. Closed-‐toe shoes, appropriate for running on grass or asphalt are most appropriate. Clothing: straps should be at least the width of three fingers, and full-‐length shirts should be worn. Shorts and skirts should fall mid-‐thigh.
