FCT CALL FOR PhD AND POST-DOC GRANTS 2015 – CSG / RESEARCH IN SOCIAL SCIENCES
AND MANAGEMENT AS HOST INSTITUTION
CSG / Research in Social and Management is available to be the host institution for proposals for
individual doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships supported by the Portuguese national funding
agency for science, research and technology (FCT) 2015 Studentship and Fellowship Call.
CSG/Research in Social Sciences and Management is a new research unit at ISEG, which was created
in 2013 by four of its research centers – SOCIUS (Research Centre in Economic and Organisational
Sociology), ADVANCE (Advanced Research Centre in Management), CESA (Research Centre on Africa,
Asia and Latin America) and GHES (Social and Economic History Research Unit). CSG has a total of
more than 200 researchers, including ISEG faculty, faculty from other schools, independent
researchers, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students. CSG activities provide a unique framework for
research and training at the national and international level.
CSG is composed of five Research Groups, which bring together the main issues faced in
socioeconomic and organizational research: Work and Employment addresses the labour market
and human resources, including industrial relations, organizational behaviour and entrepreneurship;
Knowledge, Technology and Strategy reflects several aspects of organizational management, as well
as issues related to science and technology; Value and Finance addresses the financial aspects of
economies and businesses, including capital markets, taxation and corporate finance; Globalization
and Development aims at the study of socioeconomic challenges at the international level;
Sustainability and Policy addresses issues such as public policies, corporate social responsibility and
environmental challenges. Besides, CSG includes four Thematic Lines: Laboratory of Experimental
Economics and Behavioural Science (LEEBS); Portugal: Socioeconomic Performance and Changes;
Lusophone Space: Institutions, Identities and Agency; Managerial Research. For more information
