Our Music & Art celebration be will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Come and see our student’s
beautiful art work in our art gallery and listen to our choir grades 2nd-8th and band students in grades 4th-8th perform.
2015 YEARBOOK
Pre-orders are being taken for the 2015 Pathfinder K-8 yearbook through Friday, May 15th. The cost is $14. Payment can be
made via cash or check payable to Pathfinder ASB. Yearbook highlights include: 52 pages of students, staff, candids, events and
activities, student-designed front and back covers as well as 8th grade quotes. Order forms are available in the office or on the

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP
Pathfinder K-8 would like to invite next year’s Kindergarten students and their families to our Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, May 21st. We will hold a large group meeting to welcome you and chat, and then tour classrooms. We will be talking with
you about our Jumpstart program that will happen in late August as well as our plan for the first three days of school for our
Kindergarteners.
LOU’S MAKE-A-WISH BIRTHDAY RUN
Lou’s Annual Make-A-Wish birthday run is Friday, May 29th beginning at 8:45am. For the twelfth year running, Lou will use the
celebration of his 64th birthday as a way to raise funds for the wonderful and inspiring Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington.

BIKE TO SCHOOL
Cascade Bicycle Club invites you and your child to join the Pathfinder Pedalers and help our school earn
the most minutes to earn the Golden Pedal Award! Keep track of the minutes you ride your bike each day
then total your minutes and earn a prize. Once you’ve registered your child for Bike to School Month, we
will provide you with a calendar to record your child's minutes of activity. Please turn in your bike calendar
to Pathfinder Pedaler’s team captains: Crissy in the Reading Lab, room 308 or to Owen in the Eagle Clan
by Friday, June 5.

We are accepting parent input to assist us with student placement . Please follow the guidelines that we have provided with the
form. Please do not request a teacher when completing the form. Parent input is due to David by Friday, May 22nd. Thank you!

Pathfinder K-8 School Student Placement Input
This year, for those of you that wish to provide student placement thoughts, we are asking for parent input in a new
way. This form is the only input that Pathfinder K-8 School staff will consider for student placement. Student
placement is taken seriously and is initiated according to a process involving time and careful thought concerning the
best interest of every child in every classroom. In order to create balanced classes of students, the following factors
are considered: gender, ethnicity/diversity, academic ability, special needs, friendships, learning styles, grade level
balance, behavior, and parent involvement.
Please use this form to provide information that you feel is relative to your student’s placement. Any letters
outside of this form will not be considered. Please return to David no later than May 22nd.
