Payroll by Credit Card charges your American Express Platinum for your company payroll plus our service fee. This
typically happens 5 business days before your staff are paid.

Your payroll company (ADP, Ceridian, Wagepoint, etc.) removes the payroll amount from the Payroll by Credit Card
bank account. This typically happens 2 business days before your staff are paid.

Your payroll company pays your staff with the Payroll by Credit Card bank account.

Lets say your company’s payroll for the above was $100,000. Payroll by Credit Card would have charged your
American Express Platinum $102,750. That is your company’s total payroll plus 2.75% which is our fee.
You would have earned 128,438 American Express Member Reward points ($102,750 x 1.25 points).

Payroll by Credit Card works with you to spend the points wisely so that you get much more value than what you paid
for our fee. This is because American Express Member Reward points can be transferred to airlines, hotels and other
partners for a premium.

Why do I need a payroll processor?

There has to be another “party” in between Payroll by Credit Card and you in order to play nice with various
banking and use of proceeds regulations. Also, payroll processors are good for your business. They are
inexpensive and save your staff time, money and mistakes.
