F
ans of the Super
Golden Chimes, domiciled in Australia,
waited impatiently for five
long years to see these
guys in action again, and
they were richly rewarded
with wonderful memories
of the golden past.
The Super Golden
Chimes were instrumental
in introducing Sinhala pop
to the local music scene,
and they were the rage - at
concerts and dances, back
in the 70s.
On their recent trip to
Australia, the band, lead
by Annesley Malawana,
took the audience, on a
nostalgic experience, down
memory lane, performing
the greatest hits of the legendary Clarence Wijewardena.
Both halls, in Sydney and
Melbourne, were filled to capacity,
and the Super Golden Chimes entertained the audiences with all their
favourite hit songs, including ‘Udarata
Golden past
Wassa,’ and ‘Gamen Liyumak Avilla.”
The music was so infectious that
the audience, too, joined in the
singing.
Dixon’s original guitar tone, fabulous harmonies by the members, an
acapella, arrangement by Rukshan
Perera, and never heard funny stories
of the band, by Annesley, made this
tour a super success, and with the
audience screaming for more!
The Super Golden Chimes disband-
ed, back in the 70s, and
many of the members
now live overseas, making
a reunion concert quite a
challenge for everyone
concerned.
However, when they
do get together, they
prove that they still have
the same fire they had, on
stage, 40 years ago.
Although best known
for their Sinhala original
compositions, the band
did surprise audiences
with English hit songs,
including the most difficult song, at that point in
time - ‘Bohemian
Rhapsody.’
The year, 2015, has
turned out to be a busy
year for the band members performing in Melbourne and
Sydney, in February; April 10th in
Colombo; April 17th in Dubai, and
later in the year in the UK.
A US/Canada tour is scheduled for
next year (2016).
KING
Years & Years
I caught you watching me
under the light
Can I realign
They say it's easy to leave
you behind
I don't want to try
feel another high
I've got to keep you down
tonight
And, oh, I was a king under
your control
And, oh, I want to feel like
you've let me go
Co-cover, take that test
Hold coverage to your chest
Don't want to wait for you
Don't want to have to lose
All that I compromised to
feel another high
I've got to keep it down
tonight
I had to break myself to
carry on
No longer, no admission
Take this from me tonight
Oh, let's fight, oh, let's fight
Oh, let's fight, oh
And, oh, I was a king under
your control
And, oh, I want to feel like
you've let me go
So let me go
And, oh, I was a king under
your control
And, oh, I want to feel like
you've let me go
So let me go
Don't you remember how I
used to like being on the
line
I dreamed you dreamed of
me, calling out my name
Is it worth the price
Let go, let go, let go of
everything
Let go, let go, let go of
everything
Let go, let go, let go of
everything
Let go, let go, let go of
everything
Co-cover, take that test
Hold coverage to your chest
Don't want to wait for you
Don't want to have to lose
All that I compromised to

Seen 'N' Heard
HEARD… he tried to take a suppose-tobe good friend for an awesome ride, but,
eventually, the last laugh was on him!
The friend concerned was desperate to
contact this glib-talker and called him.
And, to the friend’s astonishment, the glibtalker indicated that he was extremely
busy and could spare only a few seconds.
Yes, he said he was busy getting ready
for a banquet - with OBAMA!
What a laugh!

TNT Live
I
’ve seen quite a few interesting bands in
the Maldives and TNT Live, a new outfit
(formed on November 25th, 2014), is another group set to explode in the scene over there!
Their music is made up of a wide genre Rock & Roll, Dub-Metal/Dub-Rock, LiveElectro, Slow Rock, Soft Rock Hard Rock,
Alternative, Alternative Metal, Alternative
Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Grunge, Goth

“We wantto bring back rock & roll and feed
off the energy, we put out on the stage, to our
crowds.
“We want move our audience to the drive of
the beat - to revamp modern live music to society, and bring back the teen spirit.”

T
hose One Direction guys just can't
win sometimes. Take Zayn Malik, as
the latest example, with fans getting
fired up because Zayn left mid-concert
with the sickies, but turned up in LA
shortly thereafter to party.
His unprofessional action did come in
for some criticism.
During the One Direction ‘On The
Road Again’ show in Perth, Australia,
recently, Zayn had to take a pass on some
of the final songs, while Niall Horan
announced his bandmate wasn't feeling
well.
"#GetWellSoonZayn" started trending
on Twitter, as fans showed their concern
and support.
4. Take Me To
Church – Hozier.
3. Uptown Funk
– Mark Ronson, feat.
Bruno Mars.
8. Hold Back The

10. Heartbeat
Song – Kelly
Clarkson.
Zayn Malik
A rep for the band said: "Zayn was
taken ill during the show but it's nothing
serious. He wasn't feeling that great,
beforehand, but he tried to get through
the performance as well as he could.
Everyone is hoping he'll be well enough
for their next gig."
Seemed he was feeling okay, a few
hours later, when he hopped, on a plane,
headed to LA, with Louis Tomlinson,
where they was reportedly spotted out
and about and rumored to be partying
with Wiz Khalifa.
A fan said: "I was surprised Zayn and
Louis flew out to LA when they had a
show in Osaka so soon afterwards. But
he's an adult, so he can do what he likes."
