A Peace Boat voyage is a life-changing experience. Utilizing the
facilities onboard and harnessing the talents of staff and participants
alike, Peace Boat creates a unique environment in which people can
live and learn together while traveling in a socially responsible way.
The ship creates a unique neutral, mobile space and enables people
to engage in dialogue and mutual cooperation across borders while
at sea, and in the ports that we visit.
Since its first voyage in 1983, Peace Boat has organized more than 85
global and regional voyages, taken over 50,000 participants
onboard and visited over 200 ports of call.

Ishigaki Island (Okinawa)
Ishigaki Island is one of the many islands of Okinawa.
Famous for its marine biodiversity, tourists visit the island
to enjoy its natural wonders including its Manta rays. As in
many tourist destinations, the people of Ishigaki are
striveing to balance economic development and nature
conservation.
Keelung (Taiwan)
Keelung is located close to the capital city of Taipei as well
as many important cultural historical and natural sites in
Taiwan. Taiwan was once a colony of Japan, and its
geographical location is of geopolitical importance. From
enjoying its rich culture to learning about its history, there
are many options to explore during your visit to this
fascinating city.
Naha (Okinawa)
Okinawa, once an independent kingdom called Ryukyu,
has many faces. Boasting dense forests, crystal clear sea
and a unique cultural heritage, Okinawa also has the
largest number of military bases in Japan. With Peace Boat
you will be able to see past the tourism in Okinawa and
hear stories from the local people to see another face of
the island.
Hakata (Japan)
A cosmopolitan city in the south west of Japan, Hakata has
served for many years as a gateway between Japan and the
rest of East Asia. The oppotunity to meet with former
miners and learn the history of Miike coal mine, a UNESCO
World Cultural Heritage site where many Koreans were
forced to work during the war, is one of the unique
learning experiences offered by Peace Boat.
Jeju Island (South Korea)
Jeju is a beautiful volcanic island located in the Korea Strait.
It is home to the higest mountain in South Korea and
boasts the world’s largest lava tube system of caves. In
contrast to its peaceful scenery, the island suffered a sad
history of colonization by Japan. Peace Boat frequently
visits this island to learn from its history so as not to repeat
it in the future.
Hiroshima (Japan)
2015 marks 70 years since the end of World War II. The
Hiroshima War Memorial, now a UNESCO World Cultural
Heritage, is an opportunity to think about the importance
of nuclear disarmament for peace. Hiroshima also hosts
another UNESCO World Heritage site, Itukushima shrine
(cover page), said to be one of three best views in Japan.

NOTES
*Professional tour escorts, a doctor and a nurse will be onboard for the entire duration of the voyage. *All cabins are equipped with a shower and toilet. Pair Balcony (E) cabins are equipped with a bath tub. *All
cabins may be equipped with upper berths. *Reservation of lower berth in Friendly Type cabins is not possible. *Requests for a Friendly Type shared cabin cannot be accommodated if a child under 13 years old is
accompanying you. *Single cabins (F/G) are equipped with separate twin beds, joined together to make a double bed. *Requests for a specific cabin/floor are not accepted. *The differences in cabin types relate
only to cabins. All meals and services are the same for all passengers. *The voyage schedule may be subject to change owing to circumstance such as weather and conditions in the port of call. *Passenger Safety
is of paramount importance, therefore the Captain has the authority to change the itinerary and route of the ship if deemed necessary due to any unforeseen acts of providence, deterioration of political situations
or orders from local authorities. Japan Grace Co., Ltd. will do its utmost to inform passengers as early as possible of any changes made. In an emergency, passengers may be notified after changes have been made.

Summary of Terms and Conditions
NOTE: The following is a translation/summary of the original Japanese document. If a conflict in meaning
between this document and the original shall arise, the original shall prevail.
The following terms and conditions stipulate the business terms and the account of the transaction pursuant to
Japanese travel agency law article 12, clause 4 and article 12, clause 5. The following represents part of the terms
and conditions of the contractual writing of this engagement.
A) CONTRACTUAL ENGAGEMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A TRAVEL PROGRAM ON SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
THROUGH PROMOTIONAL MEANS
The travel program is coordinated by the Peace Boat office, and planned and conducted by Japan Grace Co, Ltd.
(herein after referred to as ‘the Company’). Those participating in this travel program will be agreeing to a
contractual engagement to participate in a travel program on sale to the general public through promotional
means (herein after referred to as the ‘Travel Contract’) with the Company.
B) APPLICATION FOR THE TRAVEL PROGRAM
Official application forms made available from the Company must be filled in along with an initial application
fee of 20,000 JPY. Once the official application form, along with this fee has been received and acknowledged
by the Company, the application procedure will be considered legitimate. The application fee will be subtracted
from the total cost of the travel program.
C) ITEMS INCLUDED IN THE TRAVEL PROGRAM FEE
1. Cost of voyage as indicated in the travel itinerary. 2. Accommodation onboard (in cabin type stipulated in
invoice) and onboard events (in part charged for). 3. Cost of main meals onboard as stipulated in the itinerary. 4.
Hand luggage transportation fees by ship. 5. Costs for tour escorts, company staff and Peace Boat staff whom
will accompany participants during the voyage.

D) ITEMS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRAVEL PROGRAM FEE
Any items which are not mentioned in Section C are not included in the travel program fee. Please find
following a list of examples of costs which are not covered by the travel program fee: 1. Medical and other costs
related to injuries or illnesses. Travel and other insurances. 2. Any extra costs that may be incurred by a change
in the class of cabin, 3. Optional tour programs fee. 4. Laundry bills, telephone bills, bar bills or any other
personal expenses incurred. 5. Transportation costs from your home to the port of embarkation and
transportation costs from your port of disembarkation to your home, related accommodation and luggage
transportation fees. 6. Costs incurred by procedures deemed necessary for overseas travel (administrative fees,
vaccination fees, visa application fees), 7. Port charges. 8. Onboard tips. 9. Fuel surcharge fee.
E) CANCELLATION FEES
Through payment of cancellation fees as indicated below, cancellation of the Travel Contract can be made at
any time.
1. Between 21-40 days prior to the departure date – 20,000 JPY (Application fee)
2. Between 1-20 days prior to the departure date – 50 % of travel costs
3. Cancellation after commencement of travel, or failing to participate with no notice - 100% of travel costs
This travel is via a chartered vessel, and thus no refund of travel costs can be made for any reason following the
commencement of travel.
F) OTHERS
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has not issued overseas travel safety advisories for ports visited, and
the Company has confirmed the safety of the ports through local travel agencies, tourism boards and shipping
agencies. As such, the voyage will take place as scheduled. The contents of this pamphlet are the latest as of
October 1, 2014.
