TSHIRTS Coming Soon! OUR MISSION: We serve to improve people’s physical and mental health through the process of planning, implementation and upkeep of the first student-run coalition to beautify our fair campus. We see our projects as moving beyond the school to aid the San Antonio community at large. HISTORY: In our short five month history we have: overcome numerous setbacks, found our faculty mentor Dr. Moore who teaches the history of medicine and anatomy, and received school approval to design, implement, and create a self-sustaining medicinal & healing garden in in front of the library, For information contact: ALICE YANG RUSSELL PRICHARD For information contact: [email protected] [email protected] ALICE YANG RUSSELL PRICHARD [email protected] [email protected] In addition to the Healing Garden, we are working closely with vendors and the school to integrate low-cost locallygrown fruits & vegetables to be dropped off on the school property. Also known as a CSA or community supported agriculture project. • This will provide a sustainable easy way for students and staff to receive fresh produce. Lastly, we are doing the research towards starting a community garden off-site where fresh produce could be produced and distributed to the larger community as either charitable donations or used for fundraising. • This project is one of our major long-term goals, and there are still many hurdles still left to jump through. If you are interested or have any ideas you think would fit with us, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! We have numerous projects in the various stages of development and, as we are still very new group, this is great opportunity for you to create and implement your own projects, instead of merely carrying on someone else’s. For instance The Healing Garden (design shown above) will: • Offer a respite from our studies and provide broad opportunities of research, • Provide GHIG members the opportunity to build something which will stand the test of time at their medical school. • Provide GHIG members the opportunity to interact with management and provide experience with the business side of managing projects. • Begin Stage 1 construction on Earth Day 4/22
