Tournament Regulations:













This tournament is open to all players.
There are few categories:

U18B
U18G

Players are subject to National Rating. Initial rating as 1200 is given for those who do not have national rating.
5 Appeal Panels will be appointed before the tournament starts.
Swiss System will be used, with 7/8 rounds for INDIVIDUAL and TEAM (based on the number of players).
Pairing will be based on the individual results in both individual and team category.
FIDE rules and regulations shall apply.
Each player is accorded with a time control of 45 minutes.
If any player is not present within 30 minutes after the game starts, they shall lose by default.
FIDE regulations apply for mobile phones, which must be switched off during playing times. Penalty shall be
automatic loss of game.
Players shall be smartly attired at all times while in the playing hall.
**Both INDIVIDUAL and TEAM tournament will run simultaneously in the same playing hall. ALL
players will play individually. For TEAM players, they play individually at the same time but
accumulate points as a TEAM. TEAM players might not necessarily be seated next to each other.
Players may participate in both INDIVIDUAL and TEAM tournament at the same time.

(Registration after the closing date may still be accepted but a late fee of RM 10 shall be imposed.)

o Priority of categories are as follows:

Open/Veteran > IPTA/IPTS > U18 >U15 > U12

U12, U10 & U8 will be considered as U12 in Team Tournament.
o If it happens that member(s) in a team is/are not in same category, the team’s category will be
considered as the highest priority of category of members in that team.
o A team will only be considered as ladies team if ALL members in the team are ladies.
o Each team must consist of 2 players.
o Tie-Breaks :

Buchholz (Summation of points of both players)

Berger (Summation of points of both players)

Fide (Cumulative) (Summation of points of both players)
