BCC Stormwater Harvesting
In July 2014, Pensar was engaged by Brisbane City Council
for the construction of stormwater harvesting schemes, to
provide irrigation water and recycled stormwater to nearby
schools, small business’s, sports fields and parklands.
The Scheme consists of (6) six separate job sites all of
difference size, scope and locations.
In general the works include everything necessary to extract
stormwater from Council’s stormwater infrastructure, store
it, and deliver it into distribution tanks.
Ekibin Park
An off-line vegetated open water storage system.
The works included cut/ fill earthworks, placement of geosynthetic liner, installation of 1950mm dia. Stormwater
extension line, upgrade to existing sewer infrastructure
and landscaping, as well as providing a relocated and
rehabilitated sports field and carpark for the local soccer
club.
Langlands Park
Involves diversion of stormwater from an existing
stormwater pipe into above ground storage tanks. As the
area is tidal the works includes installation of customised
backflow prevention system to separate the tidal water
from infiltrating the harvested stormwater.
Includes installation of a 50KL raw water storage tank and
associated pipework and distribution pumps and strainers
and allow for connection into future distribution network.
Description of Works
CB Mott Park
Is an off-line vegetated open water storage system. The
works included cut/ fill earthworks, placement of geosynthetic liner, installation stormwater pollutant traps,
pump facilities, upgrade to existing sewer infrastructure
and landscaping.
Downey Park
Involves installation of a new custom design weir and
tide gate into newly rebuilt concrete lined drain to create
in-channel storage.
Installation of diversion pit and 2 x 500KL raw water storage
tanks and distribution pumps and strainers and allow for
connection into future distribution network.

Hallco Engineering offers the complete package for

Hallco have excavated to depths of approx. 18m
from surface level with a telescopic grab
attachment which quick hitches to any of our three
excavators.

the pump station by applying protective coatings
and installing metal work.

pump station installation, and refurbishment and
upgrade of existing systems.

stainless steel ladders, platforms, access covers,
