2015 2do día nacional de las mascotas en el trabajo Lucky Pet and Pet I.D. Magazine are organizing for the second time in Puerto Rico and worldwide the National Pets @ Work Day to benefit SOS Pet Foundation to be held Friday, November 20, 2015. Over 100 employees participated the first year. This year's goal is that more companies join this celebration in order to help Pet SOS Foundation sterilize more stray dogs and cats and help control the overpopulation of animals in Puerto Rico. Benefits for you • Advertising. All companies that register through www.petsatworkday.com and buy at least five shirts, may publish their press release through www.petsatworkday.com prior to the event. On the day of the event, they can post pictures of their employees Facebook.com/luckypetfanpage. These pictures can also be published on the official web page of Pets @ Work Day. • Lucky Pet discounts. Employees of all registered companies will receive discounts on merchandise and Lucky Pet grooming services. • Healthy work enviroment. In addition, they can bring their pets to work or to dedicate a space for photos of them. Registration 2014 Each company will select an event coordinator. This person will be the contact between Lucky Pet and your company and will be responsible for: • Registering your business in www.petsatworkday.com page. • Order shirts alluding to the celebration through www.petsatworkday.com. Combine with other activities On this day the employees wear the shirt allusive to the celebration. Each company could combine this day with various events. Here are some suggestions: • Prior to the event, they can make one or several raffles to benefit any entity which is dedicated to rescuing animals. The complete list is in www.petsospr.org. • Bring pets to work the day of the event. • Hold a photo contest. • On the day of the event organize some activities such as educational lectures with dog trainers, veterinarians, animal protection organizations, grooming, nutrition, etc. • Collect donations to an entity rescue animals. Some of these include: dog and cat food, cat litter, bones "rawhide", "treats" of dogs and cats, toys paper towels, bleach, gloves, glass cleaner, liquid antibacterial wash, laundry detergent, towels to dry the dog (can be used), toilet paper, alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. 2014 2do día nacional de las mascotas en el trabajo Measures to be considered if taking pets to work 2014 2do día nacional de las mascotas en el trabajo • Employers should survey staff about pet allergies or phobias that have to be considered. • Employees must ensure that pets are well trained and are not aggressive to people or other animals in order to take them to work. • Dogs should have their collar and leash at all times. • Employers should establish policies and parameters for areas where dogs are allowed. Set expectations for behavior of dogs. • Guardians must provide water, toys and a bed for their animals and could consider using pen or cage. • Each dog guardian registered should have their pet's health record up to date.
