The Shore Family, Scotland (Above - The castle on Holy Island, England) July, 2015 Dear Praying Friends, Katie had a funny experience with our Nelson (5) in Sunday school on Sunday. She was asking him what Moses said when God called him at the burning bush. She said that Nelson put his hands on his head and yelled, “Great God! I can’t!” It was a bit unexpected in its intensity and took her by surprise. He summarized Moses' response pretty well. And at times, that is probably our response as well as we get our marching orders from the Lord. Please pray that if we respond in that way here in Scotland that we would also say, “But by your grace, I will.” We have enjoyed this past month of the ministry. God allowed our visas to go through without difficulty. It’s a comfort to have those in hand. We now have permanent residence, which has many benefits. Our church also had blessed meetings with the John Van Gelderen family. We invited many people to attend and some promised to come. Unfortunately, their promise didn’t get them out to the meeting. However, some Christian friends came out and Laura’s unsaved mum, Maxine, came. Maxine professed faith in Christ, but it seems that it was just a profession. Please pray that God will continue to work in her heart. Our church came out of the meetings refreshed and encouraged by the faithful preaching of God’s Word. The fellowship meeting was well attended and the Van Gelderen's ministry on that day was a particular blessing. Our church also did well in giving a generous love offering to the Van Gelderens. Our two oldest children participated significantly for what they had. I said to Katie, “I don’t know how, but God is going to bless them for that.” The next week, my oldest found a ten-pound note. This past week, the other child received an unexpected cash gift in a church birthday card with a wee note saying, “I felt like the Lord wanted me to send this.” I’m thankful for those teaching times with my kids as they learn to give. We are very thankful for the sacrifice of those who financially participate in our ministry. It is our prayer that God would as evidently bless you for your generosity to us. We have important ministry opportunities on the horizon. If you receive this in time, please pray for our Children’s Gala Day (children’s fair) tent on 27 June. Please also pray for our Holiday Bible Club (VBS) on 20-24 July. Thank you for your part in upholding our ministry in prayer. We must have God’s power to do the work He has called us to do in Scotland. Benjamin, Katie, Kay Lee, Benson, Logan, Parker, Nelson, & Mac Shore Playing miniature golf at Kilconquhar Castle.
