VISION: The Port Huron Area School District will provide a personalized, world-class
education for each student today to shape tomorrow’s community and global leaders.
MISSION: We will advocate for our students and families in partnership with our community to assure their success inside and outside
of school; continuously innovate our practices
and programs to improve student achievement;
and educate in ways that are relevant, relationship driven, and rigorous.
Advocate. Innovate. Educate.
Big Red Community:
Scheduling for the 2015/2016 school year will be taking place during
the month of March. Students will be bringing home course selection sheets this month. Counselors are speaking during ELA classes about which classes to take, Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and TEC. This is one of the most important decisions students can make and I highly encourage you to be a part of it. There
are many opportunities for college credit and workforce training that
greatly impact a student’s life during and after high school.
More information will be provided to students during our grade level assembly on March 10th. Parents are invited to find out more on
Thursday, March 12th at 6:30 PM. Eighth grade will meet in the
PAC. Ninth thru eleventh grades will meet in the Media Center.
Go Big Reds,
Michael C. Palmer

BIG REDS OF THE
Congratulations to the following students and staff who were chosen as the Big Reds of the Month for February!
Brianna Trexler, 12th Grade
Mya Adame, 11th Grade
Brianna is described as energetic and bubbly.
Her hobbies and activities are being involved in
student council, key club, marching band, softball, dance, and the National Honor Society.
Brianna credits her dad as her biggest influence
because he taught her to never give up. She
likes all genres of music and her favorite animal
is a penguin. Brianna says that if she were to
have a super power, she would love to fly so
that she could see the world.
Mya describes herself as someone who is optimistic about life. She strives to do her best at
everything she does and tries to be a role model
to others. She is a member of the cross-country
and track teams at Port Huron High. Mya says
that her determination to do her best and to
help others be their best is what makes her a
Big Red. Her favorite genre of music is late 90s
and Rhythm & Blues and her favorite animal is
an elephant. Mya’s choice of a super power
would be to have super speed so she would always win.
Mrs. Davis, Staff
Mrs. Davis says that what makes her a Big Red is
that PHHS is a family school. Her grandfather,
brothers, sister, sister-in-law, daughter, son, niece,
and nephew are Big Reds. She believes in pride,
tradition, excellence, and community. Mrs. Davis
credits her teacher friends as her role models because
they push and inspire her to be a better teacher. If
she were able to choose a super power, she would
like to be able to wiggle her nose like Samantha on
Bewitched and be able to be anywhere, so she could
see so many places in one day.
Brett Wagner, 9th Grade
Osric Anderson, 10th Grade
Osric describes himself as a hardworking guy
who puts school and his family first. He is a
boxer for Big Dog Boxing and also plays football, basketball, and track and field. Osric says
that his mother, grandmother, and girlfriend all
influence him to be the person he is today. He
says that his love for our school is what makes
him a Big Red. Osric’s favorite genre of music is
R&B and his favorite animal is the lion. His
super power of choice would be super speed so
his wouldn’t have to take the bus to school.

strong work ethic and his respect for others.

be the person he is today. In the summer,
Brett plays travel baseball. He also plays on
the freshman basketball team. Brett’s favorite genre of music is old rock and his favorite

choose a super power, he would like to be
able to fly.
