GM: John Watson PitchCar- Grand Prix of Philly PitchCar (Board) • Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM Nerds, start your engines! As described by BoardGameGeek, “PitchCar is a dexterity game where large, wooden, puzzle-like pieces are used to construct a race track that looks very similar to a slot car track when finished. But instead of using electrons, players use finger-flicks to send small pucks around the track.” Four 30-45 minute heats of 8 racers will compete to advance to a championship race that will determine the Philly Region’s 2015 PitchCar Champion! Beginners welcome. All ages. GM: Chris Crockett Lords of Waterdeep Lords of Waterdeep (Board) • Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM In Lords of Waterdeep, a strategy board game for 2-5 players, you take on the role of one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, secret rulers of the city. Through your agents, you recruit adventurers to go on quests on your behalf, earning rewards and increasing your influence over the city. Expand the city by purchasing new buildings that open up new actions on the board, and hinder – or help – the other lords by playing Intrigue cards to enact your carefully laid plans. For this event we will use the base game. Number of players will be based on the number of copies of the game that we have avaialble. Please bring a copy if you would like to play! Seating will be assigned randomly. Beginners are welcome, although they should be familiar with the rules. Ages 12+. Zombicide, Season 3 Zombicide (Board) • Saturday 9:00 AM - Noon Zombicide is a fun and easy game with cool miniatures in an archetypical, popular and comics-inspired environment. Season 3 rules mean Team vs. Team vs. Zombies. Ambiance is constantly balanced between “beat’em up” and “survival horror” as survivors keep switching from prey to predators. Humor and gloom happily marry in a zombie-fest. Each player controls between one (for 6 players) and four (solo game) survivors, human trapped in a zombie-infested town. In fact, “survivors” quickly change to “hunters” to smash zombies through and through. However, the team must constantly maintain a balance between survival and slaughter, for as the zombicide continues, the Danger Level increases, and the infected grow in numbers. Any misstep can turn to disaster. We will play as many rounds as time and interest allow. Beginners welcome. Age 12+ please. GM: Steve Pilch King of New York King of New York (Board) • Saturday Noon - 1:00 PM There’s always something happening in the city that never sleeps. Maybe it’s the lights, maybe it’s the energy, or maybe it’s the giant monsters trying to demolish the place! King of New York keeps the core ideas of King of Tokyo while introducing new ways to play. As in KoT, your goal is to be the first monster to collect 20 victory points (VPs) or to be the last monster standing. On your turn, you roll six dice up to three times, then carry out the actions on those dice. Claws cause damage to other monsters, hearts heal damage to yourself, and energy is stored up so that you can purchase power cards that provide unique effects not available to anyone else. What’s new in King of New York is that you can now try to become a star in the big city; more specifically, you can achieve “Fame”, which nets you VPs, but superstar status is fleeting, so enjoy your time in the spotlight. The game board for King of New York is larger than in KoT with each monster occupying a district in the city and everyone trying to shine in Manhattan. When you attack, you can displace a monster in another district, whether to escape military forces or to find new smashing opportunities. Yes, smashing because you can now destroy buildings and get bonuses for doing so, but the more destruction you cause, the more intense the military response. The monsters from King of New York can be used in KoT and vice versa, but the power cards are specific to this game. GM: Steve Pilch Philly GamesCon 2015 - board GAMES Arcadia Quest Arcadia Quest (Board) • Saturday 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Arcadia Quest is an exciting new adventure board game for 2 to 4 players created by a quartet of designers, including Mr. Eric Lang. Each player controls a Guild of 3 Heroes, competing to be the liberators of the city of Arcadia and, more importantly, to become the richest and most powerful Guild in the land! Beginners welcome. Stop at nothing to become the King of Tokyo... but that’s when the real trouble begins for you! GM: Steve Pilch Werewolf at Midnight! First Ghost of the Deep where many have traveled to the Shackles to live the life of a pirate... and some have died. Ill-fated travelers have been eaten by sharks (or worse), killed by their compatriots, or drowned in turbulent waters, consigned to a watery grave. Superstitious sailors claim that the souls of these victims are still sleeping in the watery deeps, a murky realm where Besmara watches over the spirits of the damned. Then in The Lone Shark Avast! Sharks sighted on the starboard bow! Something’s stirred up a shoal of sharks. You’ve seen their fins swimming alongside your ship for days, and sharks are as patient as they are hungry. Could it be that someone else is swimming alongside them? GM: Joshua Klingerman The Resistance The Resistance (Card) • Friday 11:30 PM - 1:00 AM Maybe you’ve seen Wil Wheaton and friends play it on Tabletop. The Resistance is a very intense social deduction game for 5-10 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Set in the near future, The Resistance pits a small group of resistance fighters against a powerful and corrupt government. The resistance has launched a series of bold and daring missions to bring the government to its knees. Unfortunately spies have infiltrated the resistance ranks, ready to sabotage the carefully crafted plans. Even a single spy can take down a resistance mission team, choose your teams carefully or forever lose your chance for freedom. Choose your teams carefully! Beginners welcome! All ages. GM: Dave Cole PFS ACG 0-1C: Brine Dragon Hunt/ 0-1D: Salvage Operations Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild (Card) • Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Two Adventures in one slot! In Brine Dragon Hunt you’ve been traveling as the “guests” of a pirate crew. The Captain has set a course for a dangerous journey across a sea that’s dark and deep and full of unfathomable horrors. Nervous crewmen have caught glimpses of a leviathan prowling through these waters. In Salvage Operations you’ve sailed away from a lengthy battle but other sailors in the Shackles have not been as lucky. A sharp-eyed sailor in the crow’s nest has spotted flotsam ahead. It’s slow going for sailing ships here: the beastie you defeated took advantage of a chain of islands and coral reefs as its hunting grounds. Now the waters are clear enough for you to look for the remains of sunken ships. GM: Joshua Klingerman PFS ACG 0-1E Nature’s Wrath/ 0-1F The Treasure of Jemma Redclaw Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild (Card) • Saturday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Two Adventures One Slot! In Nature’s Wrath recalls how days ago, Redclaw proclaimed herself captain after leading a mutiny on the ship you hired. Now she rules her ship with an iron fist… or more precisely, a mechanical hand! On land, captains’ councils and petty tyrants lay claim to isolated islands, but at sea, the Brinebrood Queen considers these waters her realm. The coral reef surrounding your ship has served as her latest spawning pool. In Treasure you unknowingly set sail with a gathering of scoundrels and knaves, but an uneasy truce has allowed you to survive. Now your fortunes have turned: you’re not only free to disembark, but you have the chance to recruit your own crew and set sail on your own ship! GM: Jeffrey Fox PFS ACG 0-2A: Love’s Labours Lost/ 0-2B: Yo Ho Grindylows Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild (Card) • Saturday 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM Two Adventure’s One Slot! First in Love Labour’s Lost Heartbreak Hinsin is an honorable man. He’s earned his share of infamy defeating those who challenge him, but he lacks the wealth and influence a truly terrifying pirate requires. Maybe that’s why he’s courting Agasta Smithee, the extremely influential Lady of Tidewater Rock. She’s been a widow for too long, but the tide is turning. Next in Yo Ho Grindylows Just recently, you earned the gratitude of Agasta Smithee, the Lady of Tidewater Rock. She’s got great wealth, a vast… island fortress, and now, the love of her life, “Heartbreak” Hinsin. Out of gratitude, she’s willing to hire you for the occasional cargo run and perhaps a bit of skullduggery. GM: James McTeague PFS ACG 0-2C: Revenge of the Fishfolk/ 0-2D: Who Rules Hell Harbor? Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild (Card) • Sunday 8:00 AM - Noon Two adventures one slot! First After earning a fair wage from your last job, you’re setting sail back to Tidewater Rock. You’ve seen wonders and terrors in the Shackles, but naught you’ve seen could prepare you for the horrors ahead in the Fever Sea, there’s a fishfolk who’s been birthing her offspring for generations, and when she’s giving birth, any wise captain gives her lair a wide berth. But some creatures aren’t as wise as that. In fact, some have a bit more greed than common sense. Next The Pirate’s Council has been hearing tales of your exploits. Impressing the Council would be a savvy idea, if you’ve got designs on becoming one. There’s plenty o’ ways to do that, but the one who wins Free Captains’ Regatta will join the council. GM: Joshua Klingerman Philly GamesCon 2015 - card GAMES PFS ACG- 0-3A: Wrecking Ball/ 0-3B: On Top of the World Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild (Card) • Sunday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Two Adventure’s One Slot! Then the key to the hold of a long-lost ship lies heavy in your hand. That ship may be at the bottom of the sea, but if the legends are true, it holds a wondrous artifact called Jalhazar’s Wheel. Only a few torches lying on the cold stone floor illuminate the surroundings. There are others here with you crouched against a nearby pile of rubble, fearfully holding bows tight against their chest as arrows and crossbow bolts whiz above their heads from unknown assailants. Your mind is cloudy...confused. Who are these people? What are their names? ...Wait. What is YOUR name?! You can’t recall, the only thing to remember is that you were sent here to help a nearby community. What was its name....Yes! Loch Varn! There is a lull in the hail of arrows coming overhead, and one of your nameless companions pulls you off the floor and hands you one of the torches, gesturing into the darkness behind you. You need to withdraw, you must get out of this strange and unfamiliar place. You must remember. Shadows of Esteren depicts a harsh medieval world where characters will be confronted with horror and multifaceted threats.
