On this third and final visit of the single string replacement process start by assessing
the pitch of the string. The pitch should have settled down to between 7-10 cents sharp.
If not, tune the string to 10 cents sharp before proceeding. At this pitch the string bend
around the upper termination can be stabilized by exaggerating the angle of the bend
with a string hook.
The pitch should drop down slightly and is ready for fine tuning. The string is 98%
stable at this stage. It can be tuned and used normally. If possible tune the string 3-5
cents sharp above normal to accommodate the final 2% stretching that will take place
over time.
Congratulations on a job well done.
