The winning team of Calvin Ridley, Graeme Hoskin & Ron Griffiths getting the feel

Bert Jones said he had spoken with the Golfing Gods regarding the weather and obviously
they listened as it was magnificent all day and allowed for some good shot making from
all of the players.
Whilst the numbers were down on previous years it was still heartening to see so many
PICA WA members playing alongside our non member visitors.
We would like to thank our very generous sponsors in Aviation Fuel Maintenance, DRA
Tank, Fuelfix , Fuel Distributors of WA and Bert Jones for their support of the day and
their sponsorship allowed us to ensure that no one left the day empty handed.
The Novelty award prizes went to:
Longest Putt 18th – Sean Krokenburg from AFM
Nearest Pin 15th – Justin Page from GTE
Unfortunately none of the other nearest pins went off so the prizes were split amongst all
of the players in the field to ensure that no-one went home without a prize.
Our winners on the day were the threesome of Calvin Ridley, Ron Griffiths and Graeme
Hoskin with a nett result of 59 ½ - well done to the guys on a great score and we look
forward to seeing them defend their title next year. In second spot with another great
nett score of 60 ¾ was the GTE foursome of Michael Dawson, Justin Page, Alan Aitken and
Arthur Chappell and in third place with a nett score of 61 ½ was the Aviation Fuel
Maintenance foursome of Peter Gell, Steve Thorpe, Sean Krokenberg and Kevin Auditore
– well played to our second and third finalists.
After the trophy and prize presentations a mid afternoon meal of finger food and nibblies
was well received as was some much needed refreshments to finish off a wonderful day.
Again, our thanks go to our sponsors and also to everyone who was able to find the time
to come down to Hillview and partake in this annual event.
