Folding a Flag A flag needs to be folded a certain way before it is hoisted. TOGGLE HOIST STROP 1. Make a loop as shown. 2. Put a second loop over the first. 3. Put both loops over toggle pull to tighten. 1 CLOVE HITCH HITCH CLOVE Fold over Fold over again 2 3 Fold over 3 1 (TOGGLE ON TOP) A CLOVE HITCH will not slip when the rope is pulled tight, but is easy to untie when the rope is loose. (for a very small flag you might miss out step 2) Also use as the starting knot when doing lashings for camp gadgets (slip loops onto wooden pole / stick) Wrap the strop around the rolled flag as shown, and tuck under to secure. 1.
