A MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH will be
sponsored by the Knights of Columbus at St.
Anthony’s in Newport next Sunday, May 10,
2015 following the 11am Mass. The menu
will consist of French Toast, ham and
scrambled eggs. All are welcome to attend
and enjoy the wonderful meal they prepare.
ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH IN IONE,
will once again host their annual July 4th Yard Sale on
Saturday, July 4, 2015. Doors open at 9am and close at 4pm.
Donations welcome from June 29 & 30, July 1 & 2 from
10am until noon. On Friday, July 3, from 10am till 3pm.
Call Carrie Hare at 442-2300 if another time is necessary.
PLEASE REMEMBER NO CLOTHES! We just don’t
have the room to display them.
ST. ANTHONY'S PASTORAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
Please remember that May is nomination month for
membership on the Pastoral Council! If you would like to
submit your name, or the name of another parishioner with
his/her permission, you will find the nomination box located
just inside the Church by the main doors. There are two
openings and the terms are for 3 years, which begin on July 1.
K of C YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Knights of Columbus are awarding a
$500.00 Scholarship to a qualified Senior
Catholic student. The applicant shall have
been accepted to a University, College or
trade school. The applicant shall be a
practicing Catholic and registered in a
parish in Pend Oreille County. To obtain
an application, for submission by
June 1, 2015, please call Ed Zupich

COLLECTION FOR THE CATHOLIC
CHURCH OF THE UNITED STATES
The weekend of May 16-17 the Collection for the Catholic
Church in the United States will be taken up in all parishes of
the Diocese – including our own Pend Oreille Parishes. This
collection is one of four annual collections authorized by the
Catholic Diocese of Spokane. It supports major ministries in
our homeland, the USA - Black & Native American Missions;
Catholic Campaign for Human Development; Catholic Home
Missions; Retirement Fund for Religious; and Catholic
University of America. Registered parishioners will receive a
special solicitation letter from Father Mike Savelesky,
Diocesan Administrator, along with an information flyer and
personalized collection envelope. Make checks payable to
CCUS and please place your envelope in the offertory
collection or mail it directly to the Diocese.
BISHOP THOMAS A. DALY –
On May 19-20 the Diocese of Spokane will
celebrate the installation of the Most
Reverend Thomas Anthony Daly as our
seventh Bishop. A general public
reception will be at the Cathedral’s
O’Connor Hall from 3:30-5:30 p.m. No
tickets are required. Details about how the
faithful can follow these special Installation
events by radio and television will be
forthcoming.
Pope Francis's Intentions for the month of May:
Universal Intention: Care for the Suffering;. That, rejecting
the culture of indifference, we may care for our neighbors
who suffer, especially the sick and poor.
Evangelization: Christians in Secularized Cultures. That
Mary’s intercession may help Christians in secularized
cultures be open to proclaiming Jesus.
