ABOUT THE WILD U14AAA PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT MODEL The Wenatchee Wild U14AAA program is designed to allow elite U14 players the ability to play for their home organization during the regular season, while gaining elite AAA experience before and after the season. All practices and showcases will take place on the weekends before the season (August-September) and after the season (March-May). AAA SHOWCASE/TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE This U14AAA team will play in 5 high-level AAA showcase/tournaments. The team will attend two NAPHL showcases that require flight for travel. The other three showcases that the team will play in will be to drivable locations in the western Canada/US. These showcase events will provide players with high-level exposure and the experience of playing against some of the top AAA programs in the US and Canada. PRACTICE WEEEKENDS In addition the AAA showcase schedule, the Wild U14AAA team will have 7 practice weekends held in Wenatchee, WA. Each practice weekend will consist of 4 ice times. Players will get the experience of learning from and playing for an experienced coaching staff. In addition to the on-ice practices, the Wenatchee Wild video system will be utilized for team video. Below is the resume of the staff: General Manager, Bliss Littler – Coach Litter is currently the General Manager and Head Coach for the Wenatchee Wild. In his 21 years as a tier I/II junior coach, he is the alltime winningest coach in US junior hockey history. Coach Littler has significant experience in the USHL and NAHL. His impressive resume includes coaching over 200 NCAA DI hockey players, 25 NHL draft picks, and 645 wins at the tier I/II junior levels. Head Coach, Ryan McKelvie – Coach McKelvie is currently the Head Coach of the Wenatchee Wolves U18AAA team. Previously, he was a NCAA DIII Head Coach at Lake Forest College, a NCAA DI Assistant Coach at the University of Alaska-Anchorage and Bemidji State, and an Associate Head Coach for the Wenatchee Wild. Assistant Coach, Pat Norlin – Coach Norlin is currently the Assistant Coach for the Wenatchee Wolves U18AAA team. Previously, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Helena Bighorns and was the Head Coach of the Wenatchee Wild U16AAA team. COSTS The player fee for this program is $4,195. This fee does not include travel, as all players on the U14AAA team will be responsible for their own travel and accommodations at all team events. Players are also required to have a black helmet and black gloves. The player fee will cover the following items: ice time, showcase entry fees, coaches’ travel and pay, game jerseys and socks, practice jerseys and socks, pant shells, team track suit, hooded sweatshirt, polo shirt, work-out shirt and shorts, hockey bag, and other miscellaneous expenses (video equipment, pucks, water bottles, coaching boards, etc). U14 AGE DIVISION This elite program is available to players born in 2001 and after. Tryouts for this team will be held June 12-14 in Wenatchee, WA. Cost for tryout camp is $75.
