Marcie’s presentation at Convention 2015 will be “Juicy and Seedy: The Pomegranate in the
Hebrew Bible and Jewish Art”. Her lecture will center on the pomegranate’s pervasiveness in
Judaism as we view images of this extraordinary fruit in Jewish art. Marcie will address the
Convention following dinner on Sunday evening, May 31st.
Marcie requested that we use the photo above. She wrote “I have no inherent objection to
traditional head shots, but here is one other possibility -- this is me with my daughter, Nira
Lois Lee, who just completed four years of service in the Israel Defense Forces as a Lone
Soldier. The photo was taken in Israel at one of her officer promotion ceremonies.” Marcie
continued, “You may use this photo as long as everyone knows that, alas, I didn’t sew any of
that stuff on her uniform!! -- truth in advertising”.
