Russell Westbrook scored 38 points and made three free throws with 6.4 seconds remaining, and the Thunder overcame a seven-point deficit in the final 50 seconds to beat Los
Angeles 105-104 on Tuesday night and go up 3-2 in the Western Conference semifinals.
Kevin Durant made a 3-pointer, then Los Angeles’ Jamal Crawford missed in close before
Durant made a layup with 17 seconds left. Westbrook stole the ball, and in a scramble, the
Thunder got possession with 11.3 seconds to play, setting up Westbrook’s play. The Clippers believed the ball went off Oklahoma City’s Reggie Jackson, but the officials awarded
the ball to the Thunder. After review, the play stood.The Thunder were more focused on
what they did after the call. They can clinch the series Thursday in Los Angeles. After the
Thunder got possession, Westbrook was fouled by Chris Paul while shooting a 3-pointer
with the Thunder trailing by two. Westbrook, who had missed a 3-pointer that would have
won Game 4 in the closing seconds, welcomed the chance for redemption. Durant scored
10 of his 27 points in the final 3:23 after shooting 3 for 17 through three quarters. Blake Griffin had 24 points and 17 rebounds, Crawford scored 19 points and Paul had 17 points and
14 assists for the Clippers. It was the latest in a string of spectacular games for Westbrook.
He is averaging 29.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in the series. The Clippers took a
101-88 lead in the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer by Crawford with 4:13 to play before Durant
finally got involved. He hit a 3-pointer with 3:23 remaining on his first shot of the quarter,
then drained two free throws to cut the Clippers’ lead to 101-95. A layup by Jackson cut Los
Angeles’ lead to four. Griffin made the first of two free throws, and Glen Davis grabbed the
rebound of the second. Paul’s mid-range jumper on the extra possession gave the Clippers
a 104-97 edge with 49 seconds to play.
Darren Collison scored eight of his 18 points in the final 2:58, rallying the Clippers past the
Oklahoma City Thunder 101-99 on Sunday to tie the Western Conference semifinal series
2-2. Russell Westbrook, who scored 27 points, missed a 3-pointer and Serge Ibaka’s tip
attempt was too late at the buzzer, allowing the Clippers to salvage a game they trailed
until the final 1:23. Blake Griffin led Los Angeles with 25 points, making 9 of 11 free throws.
Jamal Crawford added 18 points. DeAndre Jordan had 14 rebounds, helping the Clippers
win the boards, 45-43 — the first time in 11 playoff games the Thunder were outrebounded.
Kevin Durant scored 40 points, hitting 15 of 18 free throws, for the Thunder. It was the 14th
comeback — and largest yet — by the Clippers this season after trailing by double digits.
They rallied from 12 points down in the second quarter of Game 7 to oust Golden State in
the first round. The Clippers had no answer for Durant and Westbrook until midway through
the fourth quarter. That dynamic duo drove the lane with abandon, drew fouls and made free
throws in leading the Thunder to an early 22-point lead. Durant’s three-point play early in the
fourth extended the Thunder’s lead to 15 points, and they were still up by 10 with 7:44 to go.
But the comeback Clippers were not to be denied. Paul willed his team back into it, scoring
six straight points to get the Clippers within six. Griffin, who was saddled with five fouls,
made three of four free throws before Collison got hot. With the game tied at 97, Collison
scored the Clippers’ final four points on layups. Crawford passed to a streaking Collison for a
fast-break conversion on the second one for a 101-97 lead with 32 seconds left. Westbrook
scored for the Thunder, but after Griffin missed, Westbrook did too to end the game. The
Clippers came as close as eight points before Reggie Jackson’s 3-pointer beat the shot
clock to keep the Thunder ahead 75-63 going into the fourth.

Kevin Durant scored 36 points, Russell Westbrook added 23 points and 13 assists, and
Serge Ibaka, despite early foul trouble, had 20 points for the Thunder in a game that neither
team ever led by double digits. The Thunder have won two straight since getting blown out
by 17 points in Game 1 at home. Blake Griffin scored 34 points, and Chris Paul added 21
points and 16 assists for the Clippers, who saw their four-point lead disappear for good early
in the fourth quarter. Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford added 20 points. Oklahoma City
led 113-107 on Durant’s turnaround jumper with 1:23 left. It followed Westbrook’s 3-pointer
after the Clippers had closed within 108-107 when Griffin muscled in for a layup. The Thunder shot 56 percent, and controlled the paint and fastbreak points against a Clippers team
that never got into their favored run-and-gun mode. J.J. Redick, who got off to a hot start
in Game 2, was held to five points on 1-of-6 shooting. DeAndre Jordan was never a factor
for the Clippers either, with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Barnes gave them a lift with
14 points. The Thunder gradually pulled away in the fourth, scoring eight straight points,
including Durant’s three-point play, to take the lead for good. Former Clipper Caron Butler
hit three 3-pointers to give his team the lead and then extend it. He had a leading nine
rebounds. Every Thunder player pulled down at least one board to outrebound the Clippers
for the third straight game, 44-33. The Clippers rallied at the end of the period, outscoring
the Thunder 8-0 to take a 90-86 lead. They did it on free throws except for Griffin’s basket.
Reggie Jackson was called for a foul and a technical, and then Durant fouled Crawford on
a 3-point attempt with less than a second left. He made all three. Neither team led by more
than seven points in the first half, when the lead changed hands 14 times and there were
seven ties. Ibaka had three fouls and Thabo Sefolosha two for the Thunder.
Kevin Durant had 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder
beat the Los Angeles Clippers 112-101 on Wednesday night to tie their Western Conference
semifinal series at one game apiece. Russell Westbrook backed up Durant with 31 points,
10 rebounds and 10 assists for his third triple-double in his past five playoff games. Serge
Ibaka and Thabo Sefolosha each scored 14 points for the Thunder, who shot 51 percent
from the field and outrebounded the Clippers 52-36. J.J. Redick scored 18 points, Paul had
17 points and 11 assists, and Blake Griffin added 15 points for the Clippers. Los Angeles
made 15 of 29 3-pointers in Game 1, but just 9 of 27 in Game 2. The Clippers will host Game
3 Friday in Los Angeles. Durant scored 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting in the first quarter to
help the Thunder take a 37-28 lead. Paul, who scored 17 points in the opening quarter of
Game 1, went scoreless in the first quarter of Game 2 and watched most of the period from
the bench with two fouls as the Thunder took control early. Oklahoma City got an offensive
boost from an unlikely source in the third quarter — Sefolosha, a defensive stopper. He hit
a mid-range jumper, then dunked after a steal by Westbrook to give the Thunder a 78-66
lead. Sefolosha dunked again, then got a steal that led to a 3-pointer by Westbrook and
gave Oklahoma City a 90-73 advantage. Sefolosha, who had averaged just 3.7 points in
the playoffs, scored 12 points in the quarter to help the Thunder take a 94-77 lead into the
fourth. Clippers coach Doc Rivers said he expected Durant and Westbrook to score, but not
Sefolosha. Westbrook clinched his triple-double with 1:21 remaining when he was credited
with an assist after a pass to Sefolosha, who took two dribbles on his drive to the basket.

• BLOCK PARTY: DeAndre Jordan has blocked 33 shots in the first 12 games of the postseason. He already surpassed
Elton Brand for the most blocked shots in a series in franchise history with 28 against the Warriors. Brand blocked 22 shots
in 2006 in the second round versus the Phoenix Suns... Moreover, Jordan’s had at least four blocks in five of the 12 games
and leads the NBA in total blocks.
• SIXTH MAN, AGAIN: Jamal Crawford was named the 2013-14 KIA Sixth Man of the Year, becoming the first Clippers
player in franchise history to receive the honor. Crawford also won the award in 2009-10 and finished as a runner up in 201213, but his numbers this season were even better. Even when considering that he started 24 games, Crawford’s numbers
off the bench have been nearly as good as they were as a starter... Additionally, Crawford is the fourth two-time winner and
first to do so on separate teams. At 34 he is also the oldest player to receive the honor.

• BEST COMEBACK OF THEM ALL: The Clippers came back to beat the Thunder, 101-99, in Game 4 after trailing by
22 points in the first quarter and a dozen points entering the fourth quarter. It was the largest deficit overcome this season
(previously 17-- vs. Dallas and at Phoenix) and 14th time this season they have come back after trailing by double digits,
including 10 times since Jan. 1, 2014 (twice in the postseason).They came back from 12 points down in the second quarter
of Game 7 to beat the Warriors.
• DC’S WINNING SHOT: Darren Collison scored eight points in the final three minutes of Game 4, including a layup assisted
by Chris Paul with 59 seconds remaining that gave the Clippers a two-point lead that it would never relinquish. It was only
the third game in Collison’s NBA career, regular season or postseason, in which he made a go-ahead field goal in the last
minute of either the fourth quarter or an overtime period, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Collison’s previous buckets
of that kind were both regular-season shots, for New Orleans in April 2010 and for Indiana in March 2011.
• MISTAKE FREE, CP: Chris Paul had 16 assists without committing a single turnover in Game 3 versus the Thunder. Paul
is the fifth player since 1986 to have 16+ assists and zero turnovers in the Playoffs. The last player to do so was Jason Kidd,
who had 16 assists and no turnovers with the Nets in 2001.
• BLAKE IS BACK: Blake Griffin scored 34 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots in Game 3
versus the Thunder. It was the third time this postseason he’s scored 32+ points. He became the first player since LeBron
James in 2010 to register 34+ points, 8+ rebounds, 4+ assists and 3+ blocks in a postseason game. It was the ninth time in
the last decade that a player has put up such numbers in the Playoffs.
• GAME 4 IS GOOD: The Clippers trailed a postseason series 1-2 seven times in franchise history, including three times
as the Buffalo Braves. They have won ALL seven Game 4s in those scenarios, including their 101-99 comeback win over
Oklahoma City on May 11.
• FIRST OFF: J.J. Redick scored 10 points in the first quarter of Game 2 against the Thunder. He’s averaging 5.5 points
per game in the opening quarter in the first four games of the series. Redick finished the regular season as the 18th leading
scorer in the NBA in the first quarter (5.9 per game). Including Game 2, he has 10 games with 10+ points in the first.
• PAUL SHORES UP THE CLIPPERS: Chris Paul put on a masterful display in Game 1 versus the Thunder on May 5. He
scored 32 points on 12-for-14 shooting (85.7%) and 8-for-9 3-point range with 10 assists. According to the Elias Sports
Bureau, Paul recorded the highest field goal percentage in a postseason game in NBA history in which a player scored 30

• PAUL BURYING THREES: Chris Paul made eight 3-pointers in Game 1 against the Thunder, including six in the first half.
Both marks were career highs and established franchise postseason records. Paul is the second player this postseason
(Mike Dunleavy) to make at least eight 3-pointers in a game.

• GAME 7 WIN: The Clippers defeated the Warriors, 126-120, at Staples Center in Game 7 on May 3. It was the fourth time
they have played a Game 7 in franchise history and second time they have came away victorious. They won in the first
round in 2012 at Memphis and lost at Phoenix in 2006 in round two and at Washington in the Eastern Conference Semifinals
in 1975 when the franchise was known as the Buffalo Braves.
• HIGH-SCORING FINALE: The Clippers defeated the Warriors, 126-121, in what was the highest scoring winner-take-all
NBA playoff game since the Knicks eliminated the Pistons with a 127-123 overtime win in the first round of the 1984 Playoffs,

• BLOCKIN’ AND BOARDIN’: DeAndre Jordan had 106 rebounds and 28 blocked shots over seven games against the
Warriors, becoming just the second player with 100 rebounds and 25 blocks in one NBA playoff series (since the 1974 Playoffs, the first for which blocked shots were tabulated), according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Tim Duncan had 102 rebounds

• ALL-AROUND BLAKE: Blake Griffin scored 24 points with five rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks in
Game 7 against the Warriors. It was only the ninth time in the NBA Playoffs since 1986 that a player has accumulated such

• JORDAN STILL BOARDIN’: DeAndre Jordan had 106 total rebounds in the Clippers’ series versus the Golden State
Warriors. He surpassed Bob McAdoo’s franchise postseason record for rebounds in a single playoff series. McAdoo had 94
boards in a 1975 Playoff series between the Buffalo Braves and the Washington Bullets.
• BACK TO THEIR WINNING WAYS: The Clippers have lost 27 games this season, including three in the 2014 Playoffs.
But they have a record of 22-6 following each loss. After losing Game 1 of their first-round series they won Game 2 and won

player since Tim Duncan in 2008 to accumulate at least 25 points, 18 boards and four blocks in a single postseason game.
• BLAKE AT HIS BEST: Blake Griffin followed up his career-high 35 points in Game 2 with another dominant scoring game.
He had 32 points against the Warriors in Game 3. He has scored 30+ points three times in 22 career postseason games
through Apr. 27 (35 on Apr. 24, 2014 and 30 on May 7, 2012. The Clippers are 3-0 in those games.
• 30 POINTS, AGAIN: Blake Griffin scored 35 points in Game 2 and 32 points in Game 3. He was the first Clippers player

• RECORD BOARDS: The NBA’s leading rebounder and third place finisher in Defensive Player of the Year voting, DeAndre Jordan, grabbed 22 rebounds in Game 3 against the Warriors. It tied Bob McAdoo’s franchise record and was the most
rebounds in an NBA Playoff game since Dwight Howard had 22 on May 14, 2009.
• QUITE A COMBO: Blake Griffin scored 32 points, DeAndre Jordan pulled down 22 rebounds, and Chris Paul provided
10 assists in the Clippers’ 98-96 win over the Warriors in Game 3. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the first
regulation-length NBA playoff game in nearly 24 years in which one player scored 30-or-more points while a teammate
collected 20-or-more rebounds and yet another teammate was credited with 10-or-more assists. The last trio to pull that
30-20-10 act was the Knicks’ Patrick Ewing (45 points), Charles Oakley (20 rebounds) and Maurice Cheeks (12 assists) in
a second-round victory over the Pistons on May 12, 1990.
• IN NEAR-RECORD TIME: According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Blake Griffin is the fourth player in the shot-clock era
to score at least 35 points in a playoff game without playing more than 30 minutes. The most recent player to do so before
Griffin, who played 29 minutes in Game 2, was Nick Van Exel, who scored 36 points in 30 minutes for the Mavericks on May
8, 2003 against the Kings. Michael Jordan also accomplished that feat, pouring in 35 points in 29 minutes on Apr. 30, 1993
versus the Hawks. Bob Lanier is the only other player on that list, having scored 35 points in 30 minutes for the Pistons on
Apr. 15, 1976 versus the Bucks.
• NEAR THE TOP: Blake Griffin’s 35 points in Game 2 against the Warriors was the fourth most points in the postseason by
a Clippers player since the team moved from Buffalo in 1978. Teammate Chris Paul was the last player to score 35 (Game
5 versus Memphis in 2013).

• RECORD NIGHT: The Clippers surpassed several franchise postseason records in their 138-98 victory over the Warriors
in Game 2 on Apr. 21. The 40-point margin of victory overtook a 25-point win over the Phoenix Suns for the franchise best
and their 138 points scored were the most in franchise history as well, surpassing the 1976 Buffalo Braves who scored 124
points twice in the Playoffs... According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the 40-point margin of victory was the largest for any
NBA team in a playoff game since the Orlando Magic had a 43-point win over the Hawks in May 2010.
• DC’S DIMES: Reserve point guard Darren Collison had 10 assists off the bench in Game 2 on Apr. 21. It set a new career
high (previously nine). He is just the third player since 2009 to have 10+ assists as a reserve in a postseason game. Manu
Ginoblil (three times) and Jarrett Jack are the others... Collison also had 12 points in the game, giving him his first-career
playoff double-double.
• FREEBIES: The Clippers went 32-of-35 from the foul line (91.4%) in Game 2, including a 7-for-8 performance from DeAndre Jordan. It tied a team record for most foul shots made in a single playoff game and set the franchise record for freethrow percentage in a game. It was also one of the most prolific foul-shooting performances by a team in the postseason
in the NBA over the last eight years. Only four other teams since 2007 attempted at least 35 free throws in a playoff game
and made at least 90%.

• FIFTY SEVEN: The Clippers went a franchise-best 57-25 in the regular season, surpassing the 2012-13 team that went

• LEADING DUO: DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul are the first teammates in 39 years to lead the NBA in rebounds per

• HOME IS WHERE THE WINS ARE: The Clippers finished 34-7 at home this season, setting the franchise record for the
most wins at home in a single season (2012-13, 32-9)... Moreover, only the Pacers (35-6) had a better overall record at

• BLAKE-TACULAR AVERAGES: Blake Griffin averaged more than 24.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 52.8% from the field in 2013-14. He is the first player since Shaquille O’Neal in 2002-03 to average at least 24 points,
nine rebounds and three assists while shooting 50% or better. Since 1995-96 only five players besides Griffin have had such
prolific seasons (O’Neal four times, Karl Malone four times, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson and Tim Duncan)... He is
also the first player in more than 35 years to average at least 24.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in one of the first four
years of his NBA career. Buffalo’s Bob McAdoo in 1975-76 was the last player to do so. Oscar Robertson did so four times,
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Elgin Baylor did so in three seasons, while Billy Cunningham, Cliff Hagan, Connie Hawkins and
Sidney Wicks did so once.
• 12 for 30: Blake Griffin scored 30 points with 12 rebounds against the Thunder on Apr. 9. It was the 12th time this season

• ALL-TIME DIMES: In the first quarter of the Clippers’ 112-103 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Mar. 22, Chris Paul became the seventh player in NBA history to top 6,000 career assists before the end of his ninth season. Jason Kidd was the
last player to accomplish the feat (2003). John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Norm Nixon, Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas
are the others... Additionally, Paul is the fourth player in league history to reach 6,000 assists before his 29th birthday, joining Johnson, Thomas and Stockton.
• NUMBER 29: Chris Paul has 6,112 assists in his career and moved up the all-time leaderboard quickly this season. Paul

the Warriors on Mar. 12, but he still had one of his better all-around games. Paul finished with 16 points, 12 assists, eight
rebounds and three steals. It is just the 10th time since the start of the 2011-12 season a player has accumulated those
statistical minimums in a game. Paul (Mar. 12 and Mar. 18, 2012) and Rajon Rondo are the only players to have done so
twice in that span. Only Paul, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have done so this season.
• CP3’S STREAKS: Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored 22 points with nine assists against the Sacramento Kings on
Nov. 23, snapping his NBA-record streak of points-assists double-doubles at 13 games in a row to start the season. Paul
surpassed Hall of Fame point guard Magic Johnson’s record on Nov. 20. Johnson held the previous record of 11 such
games in the 1990-91 season... Paul narrowly missed out on surpassing Rajon Rondo for the most consecutive games with

• A NIGHT TO REMEMBER: Point guard Chris Paul had one of the most prolific nights in NBA history in the Clippers’ 126115 win over the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 31. He accumulated 42 points with 15 assists and six steals. According to
the Elias Sports Bureau, Paul is the only player in NBA history to accumulate 40+ points, 15+ assists and 6+ steals in a

Kevin Love in 2010-11. Dennis Rodman (three times), Kevin Garnett (twice), Dwight Howard, Dikembe Mutombo, Hakeem

HEAD COACH • DOC RIVERS
Glenn “Doc” Rivers completed his first season as Head Coach and Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations of the Los Angeles Clippers
with a 57-25 (.695) record, leading the team to the best record in franchise history. The 16th head coach in Clippers history (1984-Present), Rivers guided the Clippers to their second consecutive Pacific Division title, also establishing a new franchise record for the most home wins in a
single season.
In his 15th season as an NBA head coach, Rivers reached his 600th career coaching victory on Dec. 5, 2013 in the Clippers 101-81 win over
the Memphis Grizzlies. Rivers became just the 23rd coach in NBA history to win at least 600 games and became one of only three active head
coaches (Gregg Popovich and Rick Adelman) to do so. With 644 career regular season wins, Rivers is now third among active coaches in victories.
Rivers owns a lifetime 644-498 (.564) regular season coaching record and enters the 2014 NBA Playoffs with a 64-57 (.529) career Playoff
record.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, he was instrumental in his role as Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations in reshaping the Clippers both in
the off-season with the re-signing of six-time All-Star Chris Paul and the acquisitions of JJ. Redick and Jared Dudley, but also during the season
as the Clippers added veteran forwards Hedo Turkoglu, Glen Davis and former All-Star Danny Granger to an already deep roster.
The 1999-2000 NBA Coach of the Year, Rivers is just one of only four active NBA head coaches to win an NBA title. A former Clippers point guard
(1991-92), Rivers came to the Clippers in June, 2013 after the Boston Celtics agreed to release him from his contract in exchange for a first
round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft as compensation.
Rivers joined the Clippers after nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, compiling a 416-305 (.576) record and leading the Celtics to the 2007-08
NBA Championship with an NBA-best 66-16 regular season record. Rivers led the Celtics to six Atlantic Division titles, the 2009-10 Eastern Conference Championship and a 59-47 (.556) Playoff record.
During the course of the 2007-08 campaign with the Celtics he received NBA Coach of the Month three times. He is the only Celtics coach since
the award’s inception during the 1982-83 season to win the award three times. He joined K.C. Jones, Jimmy Rodgers and Chris Ford as the only
Celtics head coaches to have won the award.
Before taking over the Celtics, Rivers spent just over four seasons as the head coach of the Orlando Magic, earning Coach of the Year Honors
in his first season for leading a team that featured four undrafted starters to a 41-41 record. Rivers guided the Magic to three straight Playoff appearances from 2000-2003, and overall tallied a 171-168 (.506) record in Orlando before being released on November 17, 2003.
Rivers, born on October 13, 1961, played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks (1983-84 to 1990-91), Clippers (1991-92), New York
Knicks (1992-93 to 1993-94) and San Antonio Spurs (1994 to 1995-96). He played for three of the game’s top coaches in Pat Riley, Larry Brown
and Mike Fratello, and holds career averages of 10.9 points, 5.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.
His teams advanced to the NBA Playoffs 10 times, where he averaged 11.4 points, 5.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds. Rivers saw action in 864 regular season games and 81 playoff games over the course of his career.
Rivers averaged a double-double in 1986-87 (12.8 points per game, 10.0 assists per game) and was selected to play in the 1988 NBA All-Star
Game. He averaged a career-best 15.2 points per game in 1990-91 and scoreda career-high 37 points against Seattle on February 4, 1988. He
also shares an NBA single-game playoff record for most assists in one half (15 vs. Boston, May 16, 1988).
Drafted after his junior season out of Marquette by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round (31st overall) of the 1983 NBA Draft, he played the first
eight years of his career with Atlanta, setting the Hawks’ single-season assists record with 823 in 1986-87, and ending his stint with the team as
the franchise’s all-time assist leader with 3,866.
A product of Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, Rivers earned the nickname “Doc” from former Marquette coach Rick Majerus, when
he wore a “Dr. J” t-shirt to a summer basketball camp.
Rivers played for the United States at the 1982 World Championship of Basketball, leading the U.S. to a silver medal and earning tournament
MVP honors after averaging a team-best 18.6 points per game. During the summer of 2001, he served as an assistant coach for the USA Men’s
Basketball Team at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia, that captured the Gold Medal.
Rivers earned a pre-law/political science degree from Marquette in 1985 and was honored by the Pro Basketball Writers with the 1990 J. Walter
Kennedy Basketball Citizenship Award. Following the 1999-2000 season, Rivers was named Male Coach-of-the-Year at the Rainbow Sports
Awards, which reflect not only accomplishments in the sports industry, but also the grace, dignity, commitment and humanity each individual exemplifies. In June 2013, Rivers received the Sam Lacy Pioneer Award at the 2013 National Association of Black Journalists national convention.
The award is given annually to sports figures based on their contributions to their respected careers and direct impact on the communities they
served.
He has long been active in the community, serving as a member of the All-Star Advisory Council for the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA youth basketball
support program, offering instrumental guidance to the player, coach and parent training efforts for recreational youth basketball leagues across
the country.
Rivers is the nephew of former NBA player Jim Brewer, and the cousin of former NBA player Byron Irvin and Major League Baseball player Ken
Singleton. Rivers and his wife, Kris, have four children: Jeremiah, Callie, Austin and Spencer.

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH • ALVIN GENTRY
Alvin Gentry’s return to Los Angeles marked his third stint with the Clippers after previously serving as both head coach (2000-2003) and assistant coach (1990-91). The Shelby, NC native most recently served as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns from May 9, 2009 until mutually
parting ways with the Suns on January 18, 2013.
A coaching veteran of more than 30 years in the professional and collegiate ranks, Gentry has been a head coach for four teams in his coaching tenure, leading the Suns, Clippers, Detroit Pistons (1997-2000) and Miami Heat (1995). He has also assisted the USA Basketball Men’s
Senior National Team.
Gentry came back to Los Angeles where he was instrumental in guiding the Clippers in 2001-02, his second season, to an improbable 39-43
(.476) record, the team’s highest win total in nearly 10 seasons, a season after leading the club to a 16-win improvement in 2000-01, his rookie
campaign with the club.
Gentry made his entrance into the NBA as an assistant to Larry Brown with the San Antonio Spurs in 1988-89. That came the season after
serving under Brown with the 1988 NCAA Champion Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team. Gentry subsequently moved to the Clippers for
one season as an assistant under Mike Schuler.
He played point guard at Appalachian State for coaching legends Press Maravich, the father of “Pistol Pete,” and former Georgia Tech Head
Coach Bobby Cremins. Gentry graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in management in 1977.
After graduation, his cousin, former NBA All-Star David “Skywalker” Thompson, got him a tryout with the Denver Nuggets and although he didn’t
make the cut, he made an impression on Brown, who later hired him.
Gentry began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Colorado during the 1977-78 season. After one year working in
private business, he returned to the bench when he received his first full-time collegiate assistant coaching job at Baylor in 1980. Gentry then
returned to Colorado as an assistant coach from 1981-85 before joining Brown at Kansas.
Gentry and his wife Suzanne have two children, Ryan Marcus and Matthew Jackson. He also has one daughter, Alexis.

KEVIN EASTMAN
ASSISTANT COACH
Kevin Eastman completed his first campaign with the Clippers after spending the last eight seasons as a member of Rivers’ staff in Boston. Eastman brings more than 23 years of coaching experience to the bench. He was named to the Clippers’ coaching staff on July 8, 2013. The National
Director of Skill Development for Nike Basketball, Eastman served as the head coach at Washington State University (1994-99) and the University
of North Carolina-Wilmington (1991-94) and has also been an assistant coach at University of Tulsa, University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth and Colorado State. Eastman served as head coach and athletic director at Belmont Abbey College from 1986-1989.
Eastman is a 1978 graduate of the University of Richmond, where he played his collegiate basketball. Eastman also earned his Master’s Degree
in Athletic Administration from Richmond in 1989. Eastman and his wife Wendy have a son, Jake, who played basketball for Bradley University
and is currently working for the front office of the Boston Celtics.
ARMOND HILL
ASSISTANT COACH
Armond Hill brings over 28 years of coaching experience as either a head or assistant coach at the high school, collegiate and professional level
to Los Angeles, joined the Clippers after nine seasons as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers in Boston. He was named to the Clippers coaching
staff on July 8, 2013. Prior to his time in Boston, Hill was an assistant for the Atlanta Hawks during the 2003-04 season. The Brooklyn, NY native
spent eight years as the head coach at Columbia University, where his 2001-02 team led the nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to 57.0
points per game.
Hill’s coaching career began as an assistant coach at the Lawrenceville School, in Lawrenceville, NJ in 1985. He became the head coach three
years later. Hill won two Coach of the Year Awards and in 1990, led Lawrenceville to the New Jersey State Prep School Championship. He returned to his alma mater in 1991 as an assistant coach, helping guide Princeton to a 71-35 record over four seasons, winning the Ivy League title
and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 1992.
After being named Ivy League Player of the Year in 1976, Hill was drafted ninth overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1976 NBA Draft. He played
eight seasons in the NBA, six of which were with the Hawks. In 2009, Hill was inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
TYRONN LUE
ASSISTANT COACH
Tyronn Lue joined the Clippers after spending four seasons on the Celtics bench, the previous two as an assistant coach. Lue joined Boston for
the 2009-10 season as Director of Basketball Development. A native of Mexico, Missouri, Lue played 11 seasons in the NBA and appeared in 554
career games with the Lakers, Wizards, Magic, Rockets, Hawks, Mavericks and Bucks. The former University of Nebraska star won the 2000 and
2001 NBA Championship with the Lakers.
Originally drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the 23rd overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft, he was then traded to the Lakers on Draft night. At
Nebraska, Lue averaged 15.9 points and 4.4 assists in his three-year career as a Cornhusker and left the program ranking third in assists (432),
fourth in three-pointers made (145), fifth in steals (154) and seventh in points (1,577). Lue was named First Team All-Big 12 his junior season
after averaging 21.2 points and 4.8 assists. Lue was rewarded for all his accomplishments as a Cornhusker in February of 2013 when he was
inducted in Nebraska’s Hall of Fame.
BRENDAN O’CONNOR
ASSISTANT COACH
Brendan O’Connor came to Los Angeles as an assistant coach after having spent last season as an advance scout for the Brooklyn Nets. With
more than 10 years of NBA coaching and scouting experience, O’Connor, a New Hampshire native, began his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons
as an advance scout in 2000, and was then promoted to assistant coach/advance scout in July 2001. He was a member of the Pistons’ coaching
staff in 2004 and 2005 on Detroit’s NBA Championship team and Eastern Conference Championship squad, respectively. He has also worked as
an assistant coach for the Kings and Knicks.
Prior to his days in Michigan, O’Connor had a long and impressive resume of coaching experience in the Continental Basketball Association
(CBA), United States Basketball League (USBL), and International Basketball League (IBL). O’Connor was an assistant coach/director of player
personnel with both the Grand Rapids Hoops (1997-99) of the CBA and Richmond Rhythm (1999-2000) of the IBL.
O’Connor graduated from St. Anselm College in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He and his wife, Marlene, have a daughter Emily and
two sons Emmet and Desmond.
