The past few months have been extremely busy with various projects across the country at differing phases – some are just beginning, others are in the midst of construction and some have held their first events. We are blessed to have been a part of these developments and are thankful for the friends we have made along the way. We look forward to the continuing to provide a common sense approach to the designs of these meaningful projects. If you know of a group with aspirations of facility upgrades, we’d like to hear from you. theSolution newProjects May 2015 New Mexico State University PCD teamed with the architectural firm, Parkhill, Smith & Cooper to recently complete a master plan study for New Mexico State University’s College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences campus. The assignment included stake-holder meetings regarding existing academic and research programs, analysis of the agricultural campus for livestock, equipment and student flow, a review of the integrity of the existing facilities, initial planning for replacement buildings, project budgeting and the development of a phasing plan. Potential replacement buildings included a multi-purpose arena, range management lab, a new feed mill, an department, plan for expansion due to equipment barn, vivarium and a new meat the increasing demands of the academic lab. DRAFT - January 2015 Quarter Horse Congress Columbus, Ohio In April, Priefert delivered over 1500 Expo Stalls to the state fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio as part of a major renovation to the equine facilities supporting the All American Quarter Horse Congress. The Ohio Exposition Center, under the guidance of the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, undertook a major renovation of the Gilligan Complex. A total of 1012 new permanent stalls, along with an additional 500 temporary stalls, now enhance the facilities for participants at the world’s largest single-breed horse show. Project completion is anticipated for Summer, 2015. PCD led the design team for Dallas’ Lee-Tex Construction for this $3.5 million design-build project. Pleasant, TX 75455 | 800-527-8616 Created by: Belinda Miles Designs 2015 projectsCompleted PCD began working with AIP Architects of Norman, OK on master planning of the Woodward County Fairgrounds in 2012. Design was completed in 2013. PCD completed master planning, livestock consulting, structural engineering and pre-engineered metal building coordination for this $8 million project for the citizens of Woodward County. The project included the design and construction of a new exhibition hall, Oklahoma State Extension offices, a livestock wash bay building and the refurbishing of two existing multipurpose buildings. The new event center and the repurposing of the existing buildings is now complete. Recently held events included a district livestock show, a farm show and corporate meetings.
