Conference Opening Save this Date: 6 – 7.30pm Wednesday 27th May All conference delegates will receive a personal invitation to the OFFICIAL 2015 MHIS CONFRENCE OPENING. In 2015, the MHIS Conference will begin with an official conference opening; an opportunity for a little indulgence and to meet other delegates in a relaxed atmosphere. We are keeping the location a surprise at this but it promises to offer something a little special. The official conference opening will be held within Melbourne CBD. PLEASE KEEP THIS DATE FREE. 2. Conference Details: Melbourne Dates: Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May 2015. Catering Includes refreshments on arrival, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Dietary requirements: Any indicated dietary requirements will be catered. Certificate of Participation Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Participation at the conclusion of the conference. We remind you to keep your own records of CPD Points. Note about function venues: Please note that conference venues may vary in temperature – it is advisable to dress accordingly. 1 3. Conference Notes Conference Pack Your registration for the conference includes a conference pack, and a copy of conference notes. (Please note that some speakers do not provide notes). There are three car parks available for visitors to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – all of the entrances are marked on the map attached. Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre has 1060 undercover parking spaces managed by Wilson Parking. Both the entrance and exit are off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. South Wharf’s 550 open air parking spaces are also managed by Wilson Parking, the entrance to which is off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Siddeley Street parking open 24 hours, 7 days a week. 2 Public Transport Tram: Routes 96, 109 or 112 travel down Spencer/ Clarendon Streets, with a stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of the MCEC. Train: To Southern Cross Station and then catch tram 96, 109 or 112 down Spencer/Clarendon Street. Get off at the stop opposite the MCEC. Alternatively, trams 48 and 70 stop at the end of Flinders Street. From here, walk towards the Yarra River and cross the Seafarers Bridge. Bus: Bus route 238 operates to and from Southern Cross Station and South Wharf Promenade every weekday, from 10:00-5:00pm. The bus departs from Coach Bay 1, Convention Centre Place, South Wharf Promenade. 6. Exit onto Spencer Street, then take a short walk east along Spencer St or the tram number 96, 109 or 112 down Spencer/Clarendon Street. Get off at the stop opposite the MCEC. Getting from Avalon Airport to Melbourne Convention Centre: If arriving into Avalon Airport (approx 55kms from Melbourne CBD and the Convention Centre), Sita Sunbus transfers are available. These services meet all arriving and departing major flights from Avalon Airport. From Avalon Airport the bus service will drop you at Southern Cross Station which is just a short walk to Melbourne Convention Centre and also many hotels.
