27 March 2015 More angry child protection workers walk-out to highlight children at risk Buoyed by actions last week in Lakemba, Penrith, St Marys, Shellharbour, Nowra, Coniston, Ballina, Tweed Heads, Lismore, Tamworth, Ingleburn and the Blue Mountains, more child protection staff including caseworkers and support staff from across NSW walked off the job yesterday to express anger at the Government’s failure to properly resource child protection services. The now rolling actions highlight the staffing crisis across the state that is preventing effective child protection in NSW. Our Central Council passed a motion on 9 February 2015 stating that no resources of the union be directed to assist any party or person in this election campaign.
