SDK For Cloud Service Providers Making The Cloud Safe For Enterprises Cloud Adoptation Challenge It’s obvious that public cloud services are becoming mainstream in business environments. But data security will always be an essential requirement for cloud adoption, especially since the Edward Snowden incident. Clearly, any sensitive data in the cloud could be exposed to the U.S. government without authorization if cloud service providers have data and encryption keys on their platforms. This represents a big challenge for business customers who want to maintain the confidentially of their data in the cloud. Cloud service providers are required to have a way to protect customer data from any unauthorized access and to prevent losing business opportunities. Credeon SDK by Hitachi Solutions America makes cloud service use safe for enterprises. Credeon SDK secures confidential data in the cloud and in mobile environments with transparent data encryption and encryption key management. Credeon SDK helps cloud service providers: BENEFITS Cloud Service Providers • Increase security level of public cloud services • Easily integrate FIPS 140-2 certified modules into public cloud services Business Customers • Prevent unauthorized access to confidential data • Meet compliances such as HIPPA, FERPA, PCI-DSS and more • Store encryption keys separately from confidential data in the cloud • Add an extra security layer of file encryption • Manage and integrate OS-independent encryption libraries easily Credeon SDK Remote Key Management API (Patent Pending) Credeon’s Remote Key Management API provides a safe way for customers to store their encryption keys on the Credeon key server. All encryption keys stored on the Credeon key server are secure because they are encrypted by a password key that’s generated from the user’s credentials. This prevents even Credeon from accessing customer encryption keys. For maximum security, Credeon uses the NIST SP800-132 encryption algorithm to generate password keys. File Encryption API Credeon’s File Encryption API provides an extra security layer of file level encryption. Cloud service providers can add robust data at rest encryption to their application. The File Encryption API works with the Remote Key Management API so that cloud service providers can leverage the management of the user, group and security policies of the Credeon key server. This simplifies integration with applications. Bolstering its high security, Credeon’s File Encryption API uses certified FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic modules – (CMVP #1696): FIPS 197 (AES-256), FIPS 180-3 (SHA-256), and FIPS 198-1 (HMAC-SHA-256). KEY FEATURES • Remote key management • Client side encryption • Server side encryption • Data at rest encryption for mobile devices • FIPS 140-2 and AES-256 bit encryption Encryption Core API • Easy-to-use admin dashboard Credeon’s Encryption Core API provides certified FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic modules to integrate with the user’s software and hardware. • Centralized user management These cryptographic modules are based on Hitachi’s highly acclaimed HIBUN encryption module which is a used by over 6.8 million customers worldwide. Credeon’s Encryption Core API is provided as a C library. Plus, it’s platform independent, so it’s easy to deploy, especially in multi-platform environments. • Role-based access control • Auditable user and data logs • View encrypted files off-line with time-restricted cache modes • On-premise key management deployment About Hitachi Solutions America, Ltd.
