Drawing-Grade 2-5,Limit 12 Students- 2 week course​

If your child loves to draw, they will love this course. Students will learn about different drawing
techniques. They will explore contour lines and shading. There will be many fun projects your child
will be proud of.
Knitting-Grade 3-8,Limit 10 Students- Must attend at least 3 of 4 weeks.

Knitting is an art form which has been handed down from generation to generation. Knitting is a
multi-faceted like-skill which utilizes reading, math, science, art, and history. Many educational
studies have shown that knitting has helped increase math and reading skills. The student will learn
how to read patterns, select yarn, and perform basic knit and purl techniques. Ms. Trumpbour will
increase the enthusiasm of the student by taking a field trip to the local yarn shop where students
will learn about different yarns and the variety of patterns available.
Painting-Grade 2-5,Limit 12 Students- 2 week course.

Painting is an interactive, ever-changing form of expression. Students will use different painting
techniques. Students will also explore different lines, textures, shapes, and colors to produce the
painting. Through this course, students will also acquire knowledge of art history, as an integral part
of understanding painting.
Printmaking-Grade 2-5,Limit 10 Students- 2 week course.

Traditional printmaking techniques fall into four categories: relief, intaglio, stenciling, and
planographic. We will be using a variety of methods that have been used and developed through the
centuries. This will be a fun class that students will learn so much in a short time. Each student will
walk away with frameable pieces.
Silly Monsters-Grade 3-4 & Grade 5-8, Limit 12 Students(each session)- 2 week course.

By using sculpture materials, children will create their own silly monster as a “pet!” Using their silly
monster they will then creatively write a story, will will be attractively presented in book form.

Come have fun exploring art and craft projects and discover your creativity! Students' work may
include tile mosaics, drawing, painting, paper maché, collage, felt craft project, sculpture, or creative

Kids in the Kitchen- Grade 5-8, Limit 12 Students- 1 week course.

Students will learn basic cooking techniques to prepare dishes like spaghetti & meatballs, fried rice,
and chicken panini’s. Techniques include stir-frying, grilling, baking, and boiling.

Students will become acquainted with fashion terminology and styles. Daily projects will
incorporate the use of fabrics and various materials(beads, trim, ect.) to create their own designs!

Students will have the exciting opportunity to explore the science behind Crime Scene Investigation.
Upon entering the class, students will be presented with a crime scene. Each day a new investigative
technique will be presented and students will work in teams to solve the mystery! On the last day,
students will hold a mock trial to determine the guilt or innocence of the suspect! (DNA,
fingerprinting, lip analysis, just to name a few!)

This class is for band students with some experience. The group will play jazz and rock music and
will also learn the basics of improvisation. This class is where the students can “let loose” and show
their stuff!

In this class the students will learn how to play melodies and chords on guitar or piano. The students
also will play ensemble songs together. Guitars can be borrowed from the school for the summer.

Introduction to Strings-Violin & Cello-Grade 4-5 & 6-8- 1 week course

This is a one hour class where students can explore either violin or cello. Students will learn basic
music notation, proper bow hold and a modified “Suzuki “style for this one week introduction.

Join Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear as they journey into the world of Music!​
Award
winning, innovative piano introduction course offers fun, imaginative, and enjoyable learning
experience for young beginners. Teach them “right” from the beginning. Music for Little Mozart’s
curriculum is specifically designed to teach young beginners using combination of a piano, music
and movement. Singing and listening skills are developed simultaneously with an appreciation for
musical styles. MMDA will provide the keyboards, stands and benches.
Songwriting and Vocal Studio- Grade 4-5 & 6-7-1 week course

Learn to sing and write like Taylor Swift, Arianna Grande, R-5 and your favorite pop artists. This one
hour class will have you doing vocal exercises and using them to sing like a Pop Star. In addition we
will be exploring how to write your own songs and become the next big thing!
Hip Hop Dance-Grade 3-8-1 week course

Hip Hop is a fun and different way to learn basic jazz technique through jumping, turning and full
body movement. This new, highly popular style of dance is a great way to develop body awareness,

Group Ukulele -Grade 3-6- 1 week course

This class is intended for the true beginning musician. Classes will start with the fundamentals,
students will play simple chords and melodies. We’ll work on strumming simple songs both popular
and traditional music. Class members will learn to play songs in folk, rock and Hawaiian styles. Also
covered: tuning, ukulele care, and basic strums. No prerequisites, but a ukulele is required. Uke can
