The Company
AeroFarms is dedicated to enabling local production at commercial scale in different markets
throughout the world. Specifically, we are focused on developing local farms that grow flavorful,
safe, pesticide-free produce that can be easily traced from farm to fork through a simple and
transparent supply chain. As we scale, we are looking for dedicated people who can help us
address our global food crisis and fundamentally transform agriculture.
AeroFarms is building a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Newark, NJ that will be the world’s
largest indoor vertical farm for leafy greens and herbs and will serve the NY Metro area. To
support substantial interest from national retailers, AeroFarms plans a significant scaling of the
business, including facilities in additional cities in the near-term. In addition to North America, the
company also has farms under development in other regions of the world.
Role
The MES Developer is responsible for architecting solutions for measuring, collecting, storing and
using information for the production of food in our state-of-the-art growing systems by utilizing
commercial off the shelf applications including and integration of same utilizing custom
development when required. Responsible for owning outcomes and supporting MES business in a
high-growth environment.

Responsibilities
Lead the design specifications, configuration, testing, startup and operation of manufacturing
execution systems (MES) solutions identifying and deploying most effective technology (MET)
standard solution components to meet enterprise requirements.
 Participate in project scoping activities with engineering team
 Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and costs
constraints
 Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and
operational and performance requirements of overall system, including requirements
gathering and gap analysis
 Design software and database systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models
to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
 Design, maintain, and support the database schemes, application code and interfaces
 Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
 Configure and deploy computer systems including servers, PCs, laptops, printers, and data
collection and measurement devices.





Support the design and development of all components of MES including:
o The design and development of web-based reporting and visualization systems
o Work with vendors to ensure new equipment meets MES requirements.
o Traceability and genealogy
o Initial quality control (IQC) and statistical quality and process control (SQC/SPC)
o Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
o Web portal development
o Asset management
o Process visualization
o Data historians
Lead training to ensure successful implementation of MES systems
Support future process improvements and product development
Develop cost and resource requirements for MES
Provide basic enterprise IT implementation and support
Qualifications and Desired Skills
 Bachelor of Science is required
 Experience in IT/Application Development
 Experience in Wonderware
 Experience with .NET (C#/VB) Development
 Experience with MS SQL Server
