Spring Newsletter 2015
Dear Plastic Enthusiasts
It has been a interesting start to the year. As you will have read in previous newsletters we had
ordered a large amount of PVC material and Raincoats for delivery for the spring. The first major
problem we encountered was a delivery of Shiny Black, Red and semi transparent raincoats that
were found to be odour contaminated with a “washing powder smell” probably whilst in a container
on the high seas. I wasn’t happy selling the coats as they were and contemplated scraping the whole
consignment and putting in a claim with the shipper. However, I’m not one for throwing PVC away
so we tried washing a number of coats and found that this did in fact remove most of the smell.
There was no way I was going to wash 1000 raincoats so these have been offered at a greatly
reduced price on the website, quite a few of you have taken advantage of this and we do still have
some coats left if you want to pick up a bargain.
The second disaster was that the manufacturer of the Semi Transparent PVC with white leafs stated
that they were unable to satisfy our order with them which was placed before Christmas.
Unfortunately there are numerous rules laid down by the Chinese authorities and it is a minefield
dealing with China suppliers, there are a lot of politics to deal with in China and for whatever reason
the supplier was unable to export the goods. So we went back to the drawing board and decided to
nurture relationships with a very large PVC sheeting manufacturer in Mainland China who seem
happy to export without too much trouble. I decided to resurrect the “Gingham” project. The
problem with any printing project is that you have to buy a “print roller” these are usually about
$1000 so in the past I have been put off, however this time I have bit the bullet and decided to try
some Gingham prints. So we have ordered plain white with blue gingham and plain white with pink
gingham. If these prove popular we can use the same print roller for future projects in different
colours. Some of you were disappointed that our Pearlised White PVC had finished (WHP1) so we
have asked the same manufacturer to produce another batch of Pearl white.
Other material projects include:We have found some nice “stock” Navy and silver PVC with a raincoat supplier which we are
converting into raincoats and having the remaining material delivered to the UK. We have also
ordered some Glass Clear Green which we are converting into raincoats and the material will be
available in the UK from Mid May. We are also trying out a new PVC supplier in the Far East who will
be supplying new batches of Shiny Yellow and thin semi transparent natural 120 micron PVC
hopefully for delivery mid May.
We continue to build our “Off the shelf” availability. We are looking at one size garments especially
with a choice of popular colours. One good example of this is the raincoat RA33. You can now have
this coat delivered straight away in a choice of nine popular colours. We are also stocking special
projects such as the Hazchem suit in Shiny Orange (see below) and a number of ponchos and Capes
in discontinued colours at competitive prices see below.
We have a number of “guest” products now appearing on our off the shelf range. We have some
new China Produced pants and rainsuits along with a number of rubber and latex products and butyl
gloves to tempt you with.
This year will also see a massive branding exercise for our designer rainwear on our sister site

branding, photography, distributors and high street buyers. I am determined to get the “Mac” back
into the high street and we have a number of exciting designs in the pipeline. When these finally
come to fruition you will be the first to know.

SU25: A comeback for the two Piece rainsuit in very thick and rubbery shiny Black PVC in one size
only Large (but suitable from medium through to XL ladies and gents). People were disappointed

SU32: Bubble Gum Rainsuit. You are going to love these two piece suits. Manufactured in China
using a thick very substantial PVC these rainsuits come in five bright bold semi transparent colours
with a white leaf motive. The jacket has an attached hood with visor, Velcro neck strap, two front
pockets, front poppers and full length zip with rainflap and elasticated cuffs. The trousers have an
elasticated waist, straight leg with a very wide crotch and flattened seams. The suit is built to last
and would be ideal for festivals, riding the bike or having some fun in. Why not choose your favorite

Some new products to titillate you!
XX06: Ladies Galoshes. Back in the 1950's ladies were very practical! To protect those expensive high
heel shoes they would cover their shoes with PVC Galoshes. So why not carry on using a good idea!
Our ladies shoe cover has a welded hole at the back for the heel to slip through and a simple zip up
front to ease putting them on. If you want to protect your best shoes when out in the rain and then
slip them off before the big event these covers are ideal. Suitable for a ladies shoe size 3 - 7. You can
