19 April 2015
Dear Parishioners:
As I announced in in my letter dated February 1st the Religious Education Programs of Saint Mary, Sacred Heart and
Saint Ann Parishes will be united to form a collaborative program under the direction of Mrs. Ann Ryan. Each parish will also
have a coordinator who will be present on site during classes.
It is my hope that by restructuring the program, the children
of each parish will benefit from the combined resources that
will enhance and strengthen their religious education.
As I reviewed the current budget of Saint Mary’s Religious
Education Program, it became apparent that by forming a
single program, a substantial savings will benefit Saint Mary
Parish. Currently, the cost of Saint Mary’s Religious Education
Program this year is $70,000.00. This includes salaries, benefits
and heat for the school. Under the new program, the cost to
Saint Mary’s Parish will be $33,000.00. This savings is a result
of sharing a collaborative staff and closing the school building. To heat the school for two hours a week for six months
is costing the parish $20,000.00. With the approval of the
Finance Council, beginning in September, Classes for Grades
1 - 5 will take place in the parish hall on Sunday Morning. This
savings will enable the parish to address certain projects that
will benefit the church property.
As always, thank you for your support and understanding
as we work together to strengthen our parish finances. I am
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Lou Palmieri, Pastor

will last about 1 hour.

qcc14.org Collaborative website news:
• We have set up a test with Google Translator on the Sacred Heart homepage. No matter which parish you are in, we
ask that you test out the translator and see if it would valuable to include it globally on our entire collaborative website. We have added some of the primary languages of our
parishioners. Are we missing any that should be included?
Does the translator work well and make the text sensible?
Your opinion is important! Please email your comments to
[email protected].
• Digital photographers needed! We would like to increase
our library of parish photos for the website. We have scheduled one hour from 12 noon to 1pm at each church and invite
you to bring your digital cameras and document our church
buildings, statues, windows, etc. The dates are: May 17th at
St. Mary, May 24th at Sacred Heart, May 31st at St. Ann.
