Anointing of the Sick
We celebrate the Sacrament of the Sick after the 4 pm Mass on
the second Saturday of the month in the front of the church.
Our next anointing will be Saturday, June 13th. We ask those to
be anointed to sit in the front pews, and invite anyone at the 4 pm
Mass to join in this special time of prayer.

Seventh Sunday of Easter

May Procession & Crowning in Honor of the
Blessed Mother is scheduled for today, Sunday,
May 17th at 3pm in Saint Ann Church The
procession will begin in church, then process
outside to the fountain on Hancock Street to
crown the Blessed Mother. The service features
the prayer, the Rosary and Marian songs. Following the
Crowning, light refreshments will be served at St. Ann Parish
Hall .
Fr. John Chen Reception: Cardinal Seán has
appointed Fr. John Chen as the new parochial
vicar of St. Bridget and Sacred Heart Parishes
in Lexington, effective June 2nd.
A farewell reception to thank Fr.
John for his service to our collaborative
parishes of St. Mary, Sacred Heart and St.
Ann will take place following the 10am Mass at Sacred Heart
on Sunday, May 31st. All are invited to come and wish Fr. John
well in his new assignment.
A Collaborative Carnival Committee meeting is scheduled
for Monday, June 15th at 7pm in St. Mary Parish hall. The
carnival is scheduled for Sept. 18th-20th. All parishioners are
invited to assist!
A St. Mary Parish 175th Anniversary Committee meeting
will be held Monday, June 22nd at 7pm in St. Mary Parish hall.
All volunteers should plan to attend.
The next Book Club meeting will be Sun, May 31st in Sacred
Heart parish hall at 7 pm. The book is The Fever Tree by Jennifer
McVeigh. This is an epic story of love, deception & courage, & a
woman’s journey of self-discovery in South Africa.
Our Collaborative Parish Picnic is scheduled for Sunday,
June 28th at Pageant Field in Quincy from 12 noon to 3:30 pm.
The picnic will begin with 11 am Mass at the field. We are
looking to form a picnic committee. If you would be interested
being on the committee please call St. Ann parish office at
617.479.5400.
Pizza and Prayer: Open to all high school students, Wednesday
nights from 6 pm to 7:30 pm in Saint Ann lower chapel. Come
and bring a friend and meet some new friends while hanging
out and eating free pizza.
The seminary collection next week supports the formation
and training of seminarians in the Archdiocese of Boston as
priests. Thank you for your generous support to this collection.
St. Mary Cemetery Memorial Day Mass
Monday, May 26th
A Memorial Day Mass for those
who have died, especially those
buried in Saint Mary Cemetery,
will be celebrated on Monday,
May 25” at 9 am. The Mass will be
celebrated in the cemetery behind the church. Please bring your lawn chairs. A reception
will take place following the Mass in Saint Mary Parish Hall.
All are invited!
Digital photographers needed beginning today! We would
like to increase our library of parish photos for the website. We
have scheduled one hour from 12 noon to 1pm at each church
and invite you to bring your digital cameras and document our
church buildings, statues, windows, etc. The dates are: May 17th
at St. Mary, May 24th at Sacred Heart, May 31st at St. Ann.
Quincy Catholic Academy:
Rock ’n Roll Fun Run: QCA’s annual fun run fundraiser, will
be Friday, May 22nd. Students run/walk/jog laps in a 10-minute
time period with sponsors pledging them. If you wish to put
your business or family name on the back of the 2015 t-shirt,
or would like to sponsor a student, donate a prize, or hear of
other advertising opportunities, please call 617.328.3830. QCA Summer Program: for children from preschool to Grade 5.
The program will run 8 weeks from June 22nd through Aug. 14th
(Mon.-Fri., 7:30am to 5pm. This program will include assorted
educational classes, exciting physical activities, and some time
for fun free play (both indoor and outdoor).
Registration/Open House: A school tour is held every first
Wednesday of the month; next open house will be Wednesday,

Celebrating our 5th anniversary: A Mass will be celebrated on
Mon., June 8th at 1pm in Sacred Heart Church and an anniversary
party on Wed., June 10th at 6 pm at QCA (cake, ice cream, games,
rides, face painting, and more). ALL are invited!
Our Father Joe has created a collection of poetry available
for a free will offering not less than five dollars, the proceeds
for which will benefit the upcoming travel expenses for young
adults to participate in Pro-Life activities such as the March for
Life. Drop in at your parish office to obtain a copy of his seminal
work: “Poetry on the Nature of Life.”
Catholic Appeal: Recently, our parishes launched the 2015 Catholic Appeal. We thank all who have given

Enhance Asian Community on Health (EACH)
Enhance Asian Community on Health, Inc. was founded
in October 2014 as a non-profit corporation to assist the Asian
community with issues of health and well-being. Their mission
is to enhance the health of individuals and families of all ages,
especially those within the Asian community. EACH provides
quality access to information on healthcare options, human
and social services.
In order to address the growing needs of the Asian community within the parishes of St. Mary, Sacred Heart and St.
Ann, our collaborative will assist the Enhance Asian Community on Health, Inc. by providing office space at St. Ann Parish
on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 am to 2 pm.
Current programs include:
• Collaborate with healthcare service providers to sponsor
forums, workshops, training and seminars for promoting
health and well-being such as evidence-based programs:
My Life, My Health, Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, A Matter of Balance and other wellbeing programs.
• Provide resource and informational support to assist with
applications for appropriate Federal/Massachusetts health
plans, and benefit programs for those individuals and families who lack adequate healthcare due to cultural, linguistic
or economic barriers.
• EACH will also assist clients with benefit programs such
as: ACA, Medicare, OneCare, Medicaid, Supplemental
Program, Home Energy Assistance Program, Social Security, State Pharmacy Assistance, State Property Tax Relief
and other related programs.
It is important to note that this organization was founded not only to serve the Asian Community, but also the entire community of Quincy. All parishioners and their families
are more than welcome to visit EACH and seek their assistance with a number of health and well-being questions and
concerns. Those who will staff the office and assist people are
trained and certified individuals with knowledge of all federal
and state programs and benefits.
EACH will begin services at Saint Ann Parish on Thursday,
June 4th. Their office will be located in the parish hall. Persons
must call in advance to make an appointment.
Our next Atlantic City trip is scheduled for Sept. 1-3 to see the
air show, “Double Thunder” presented by Blue Thunder & the
Blue Angels. The Blue Angels will be performing for the first time
along with the Thunderbirds. Our hotel will be the Tropicana.
The trip will includes: Bus, 2 nights accommodations, Casino
Bonus: 2 Buffet Coupons & $30.00 slot play (Bonus subject to
change by casino)and the air show, weather permitting. Cost is
$249.00 per person/double occupancy, or $369.00/single. Only
80 seats are available. Contact Fr. Lou or Arlene at Sacred Heart
rectory for information. Full payment is due at registration.
Registration ends on August 1st. Insurance is available for $29.00
with full payment and is for medical reason.

The Ninth Annual Children’s Choir Fest is now offered collaboratively. We offer a week-long summer program of fun, singing,
and learning about our Catholic worship through times of prayer,
activities, games, crafts and videos. Our week ends with a musical presentation open to everyone, followed by a make your own
sundae party. Reservations are filling up quickly. Don’t delay—
you can find details or register online at qcc14.org/choirfest.

We are in need of adult volunteers to help in the kitchen,
with crafts, and for general supervision. If you would like to
help anywhere from a few hours to the entire week, please call

Our monthly dinner season begins on Friday, May 29th with
a “Thanksgiving in May” dinner at 6pm in the cafeteria at Sacred Heart. Come an enjoy a turkey breast dinner with all of the
traditional fixin’s. We’ll do the cooking and even the cleanup!
The price is $10 per person/$20 per family with children 12 and
younger. Reservations are needed and make be made by calling
Sacred Heart at 617.328.8666 before Wed. May 27th.
Collaborative Craft Fair, Nov 7th! Are you interested in having
a table at our First Collaborative Craft Fair? Tables are $30 for

25th & 50th Wedding Anniversary Mass: Cardinal Seán invites
all couples celebrating their 25th or 50th wedding anniversary in
2015 to the Silver and Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass at the
Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston on June 14th at 11:30 am and
will include a renewal of vows. Family members and friends are
