APPARATUS SHORT FALLS AT TRAINING CENTRE
VAULT
 The clearance zone outside of the landing mat surface is less than 1m on the right side. The clearance zone is
25cm. The wall will be padded.
 The landing mat is 6m in length. There is no 1m clearance zone beyond this 6m. The wall at the back of the
landing mats is padded.
 On the left side of the vault run up, at a distance 8m away from the vault table all the way along to the vault
table, there is 20cm high matting directly next to the vault run. This may be a trip hazard if gymnasts were to
balk their run and go off to the side of the vault run. The vault run up is 1.77cm in width.
BARS
 Bars mount area is only 3m in length
BEAM
 Beam mount area will only be 5m in length
 Beam dismount area will be 4m in length. The beam dismount mats will be right up against the edge of the
floor area, directly next to the white line of the floor
 Dismounts must be performed at the one end only – the end closest to the floor.
FLOOR
 In 1 corner of the floor (closest to the men’s high bar above the pit), there is a “sunken” soft mat within 1m of
the corner of the floor. This creates an uneven surface outside of the floor area.
