PARIS MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SPRING 2015 Application Procedure All BU students must apply online at www.bu.edu/abroad. Applications are due by October 1st. Note: Students must meet with an advisor in the SMG UPO before applying. After doing so, they may bring the Advisor Support of Participation Form, which is part of the application, to the SMG UPO to be signed. Pre-Requisites Track I: Students must have completed their Core courses (MK 323, QM 323, OM 323, FE 323) as well as four semesters of college-level French. Track II: Students must have completed their Core courses (MK 323, QM 323, OM 323, FE 323) as well as six semesters of college-level French. Program Timeline This program is offered in the spring semester only. It begins early January and ends mid-May (tentatively). Students take an intensive French language course during the first week. From February to mid-May, students take courses at Dauphine. From March to mid-May, students intern and complete an internship seminar. Approved Courses Students take four, four-credit courses for a total of sixteen credits while in Paris. At least two of the courses must be management courses. A typical course load in Paris consists of: Track I CAS EC 497 – Internship/seminar (French)* CAS IP 300 – French Language (French)* Management Course (English) Management Course (English) Track II CAS EC 497 – Internship/seminar (French)* CAS IP 400 – Paris City of the Arts** (French)* Management Course (French recommended) Management Course (French or English) *These specific courses are mandatory. ** This course may be substituted with a similar course identified by the Paris academic director. With the exception of the internship seminar, all courses are taken at Université de Paris IX – Dauphine. The Université de Paris IX - Dauphine courses listed on the back of this sheet have been approved by SMG faculty as equivalent to SMG courses. Students studying in Paris should choose from the provided list of courses, or have an alternate course pre-approved by the SMG Undergraduate Program Office. Important Note In general, students may take up to two concentration courses abroad per concentration. Also, they may take up to one “A List” course abroad per concentration. The list of available courses on the reverse side of this sheet shows what courses are available and how they may be applied toward each concentration.
