Jesus the Son of God was arrested, underwent two hearings or trials, was sentenced to death by crucifixion, and died on a cross. Santone Chapel: In Loving Memory of : Richard G. Schuster Well, one of the strongest ‘proofs’ of the Resurrection of Christ remains the visible and tangible transformation of people from being fearful, terrified, and closed in on themselves to fearless and courageous sharers of Christ’s presence at work in daily life, and in the community. Resurrection people continue to work at paying attention to God’s presence and therefore, know that there is always hope. Resurrection people know that by spending time with Jesus in prayer, that God’s love is limitless, unconditional, and radical. And when they have experienced that love, they share it with others in countless ways of service. Resurrection people follow Christ in the Mystical Body of Christ because every member of the Body of Christ is valuable and called to contribute uniquely to the whole. Resurrection people know that Jesus is with them intimately when they pray the Scriptures and feed on Himself as simple food in the Eucharist. Resurrected people are reminded of St. Augustine’s words: ‘Behold what you are; become what you receive.’ In a world of radical self interest, Resurrection people know that selflessness and sacrifice costs, as it did for Christ. Yet they continue to give out of gratitude and not complaint even when life hurts. For Resurrection people know that vast sufferings and losses are still part of everyone’s life and not an illusion, but when joined to Christ’s cross and community, one surprisingly meets the Living God in a deeper way. Like Jesus, Resurrection people are people of Trust, i.e., Faith that God is with them in all that they do and even in all that they suffer. Resurrected people simply walk with Christ and the community as a way of life. A life giving connection that makes the difference in how they meet the gift of each other every day and in all of the seasons throughout life. Jesus proclaimed ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life’ and we are personally asked again this Easter: Am I living as one of the Resurrection people or have I forgotten the good news of the Resurrection? Our answer has everything to do with us and how we meet the gift and challenges of each day. Have a Blessed Easter Day and Season, Father Mike PARISH LIFE/ACTIVITIES Memorial Pavers for the Prayer Grotto of The Welcoming Christ “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” - COLOSSIANS 3:2 On this day we thank God for His Son, Jesus, who died and rose for us. Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet Our Lord appeared to St. Maria Faustina and gave to her the Novena to The Divine Mercy for her own personal use. He also revealed to her a powerful prayer that He wanted everyone to say - The Chaplet of Mercy. St. Faustina prayed the Chaplet almost constantly, especially for the dying. The Lord encouraged her to have others say it too, promising extraordinary graces to those who would recite this special prayer. The Chaplet can be said anytime, but the Lord specifically asked that it be recited as a novena, especially on the nine days before the Feast of Mercy. The Welcoming Christ memorial and prayer grotto has been a gift to the parish from Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schuster in memory of their son, Richie. Barbara and Rich have also welcomed the idea of a memorial paver pathway and place of prayer and reflection for others in the parish or community to honor a loved one, living or deceased. Engraving a paver in the grotto makes your loved one a part of the parish’s legacy for generations to come. This past year many of our loved ones went home to God. Would you like a paver in their memory? Paver samples and information forms are in the Trenton Road lobby. If you are interested, please take a form or go to our parish website www.quparish.com or call the rectory at 215-945-8750. PRAYERS FAITH FORMATION Prayer for our Military April 2015: All Love Bears Fruit Not everyone is called to marriage. But every life is meant to be fertile. Every life has the power and the need to nurture new life — if not through bearing and raising children, then through other vital forms of self-giving, building and service. The Church is an extended family of different vocations, each distinct but each needing and supporting the others. Priesthood, religious life and the celibate lay vocation to enrich, and are enriched by, the witness of the married state. The different ways of being chaste and celibate outside of marriage are ways of donating one’s life to God’s service and the human community. “Heavenly Father, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.” We pray for all military, especially the family and friends of our parish community: Anthony Angelo, Ryan Berk, Andrew Bragg, Patrick Bresnahan, Joe Chrobak, Jr., Kristina Chrobak, Rachael Paz Carroll, Joseph Chapin, Ryan Check, Ashley Cisneros, Joseph Cradle, Daniel Colon, Gina Copello, John Cumberland Sr., Zachary Cumberland, Ed Daly, Christopher Deese, Dave Di Belius, Tim Di Pietro, Derek Donahue, Trevor Draut, Andrew Dwyer, Daniel Erick, John Gattone, Richard Good, Timothy Grauel, Dwight Gregory, William Graeff, Bobby Gulla, Esteban Gutierrez, Paul Hallman, Christopher Harrington, Samantha Harris Helias, Douglas Jordan, Theresa A. Jeff Cavins introduces these characteristics that are essential to the Christian life and outlines practical steps for living them out in daily life.
