2-Day Workshop

July 22-23, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Each year, the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA) at CSUSB organizes Kids Discover Egypt: 2-Day
Art Workshop, for ages 9-12. This popular program brings in 4th-6th grade students from neighboring communities
throughout San Bernardino County. The workshop includes many educational and hands-on activities, including a
special tour of the museum’s extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities.
Participating students learn about Egyptian history, culture and art. Led by RAFFMA staff and CSUSB faculty, children
participate in a variety of activities like clay art projects, creating cat “mummies,” making beads from authentic ancient
Egyptian molds, and excavating a mock archaeological dig. Students also learn basic art concepts and vocabulary that
are applied to each of their hands-on projects for a cross-curricular workshop.
The hard work and creative imagination of all the participants result in a fun learning environment, which opens an
entirely new world of art to young minds.
