HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK
Kids, the much awaited holidays are here yet again and it’s time to play and have fun!! We have planned for you
some fun activities to make the optimum use of your energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you continue
learning during the holiday break as well.
General Instructions:
1. Every work has to be done on A4 size interleaf colored sheets.
2. All the sheets should be properly labeled with name, class, roll number and subject.
3. The sheets have to be punched, tied in the form of a booklet separately for each subject and put
them in one labeled folder.
4. Do your work in good handwriting. Work done in bad handwriting will not be accepted.
5. Parents are requested to encourage their ward to do the homework independently. They can
support the child only if he/she needs help.
6. Creativity and originality of the work will be appreciated.
7. All the given activities will be graded in Formative Assessment 2 .
8. Revise all FA1 syllabus.
9. Submit your holiday homework to your class teacher on 3rd July , 2015 positively.
ENGLISH
1. Write an article in about 80 to 100 words on your role model. Why are you inspired to select
him/her as your role model? (You can write about any eminent personality from sports , science,
literature or any social figure. Paste the relevant pictures.
2. You are blessed with the greatest gifts of life “Nature” and “Family”. Make a pictorial depiction
how they help you and write a catchy slogan for each.
3. Practice calligraphy ( cursive and speedy writing) during vacations for the writing competition to
be held in July.

MATHS
1. Find the population , calling code , pin code and language of metro cities of India. Write them in
ascending order and descending order. Also , write them in Indian as well as International system of
numeration.
2. Draw an equilateral triangle, an isosceles triangle and a scalene triangle using match sticks and
coloured glaze papers. Find their perimeter .
SCIENCE
1. Make a beautiful pinwheel with the help of colorful paper to show the direction of moving wind.

2. Make a poster on any one weather phenomena. The poster should include information about the
phenomena describing its characteristics, newspaper clippings etc.
3. BEST OUT OF WASTE
Using waste material create a useful craft item of your own. You can use old newspapers, empty
boxes, empty plastic bottles, cans etc.
Social Science
1) With the help of pictures, list the functions of Municipal bodies on A4 sheet.
{You can take help from your social science textbook, Ch-6 from civics section}
2) Both the Chalukya and the Pallava kings made beautiful temples. Collect pictures of the temples and
write 5 to 10 lines about what each picture describes on A4 sheet.
