HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK
General Instructions:
1. Every work has to be done on A4 size interleaf colored sheets.
2. All the sheets should be properly labeled with name, class, roll number and subject.
3. The sheets have to be punched, tied in the form of a booklet separately for each subject and put them in
one labeled folder.
4. Do your work in good handwriting. Work done in bad handwriting will not be accepted.
5. Parents are requested to encourage their ward to do the homework independently. They can support
the child only if he/she needs help.
6. Creativity and originality of the work will be appreciated.
7. All the given activities will be graded in Formative Assessment 2 .
8. Revise all FA1 syllabus.
9. Submit your holiday homework to your class teacher on 3rd July , 2015 positively.
ENGLISH
1. Write an article in about 80 to 100 words on your role model. Why are you inspired to select
him/her as your role model? (You can write about any eminent personality from sports , science,
literature, Films or any social figure. Paste the relevant pictures.
2. Write a poem of about 6 to 8 lines on any one of the given themes. Friendship, Parents, School,
Teacher, Mother, Nature, Pets. Add appropriate illustrations.
3. Pick any 10 idioms from the newspaper you get in school. Write their meanings and frame them in
sentences. Depict the idioms through pictures.
HINDI

MATHS
1. Take 5 sheets of different colored glaze papers. Draw 5 circles on each of them and cut them. The
circles should be of different radius. Now, create any 5 patterns of designs using these circles. Also,
write the radius, diameter, perimeter and area of these circles.
2. Draw an acute angled triangle , an obtuse angled triangle, a right angled triangle , an isosceles
triangle, an equilateral triangle and a scalene triangle using colorful glaze paper and match sticks.
3. Do activity no. 1 and 2 in your labkit file.
SOCIAL SCIENCE
1. Find out the names of Chief Ministers and Governors of all Indian states. Write their date of birth and
paste their pictures.
2. Pick any one social issue such as girls education, domestic violence, drinking and driving etc. Then,
make a social advertisement with a nice slogan and pictures.
SCIENCE
1. Prepare a model on the following topics according to your roll number :
1-9 = Stomata
10-18 = Liver and gall bladder
19-27 = Tongue (showing taste buds)
28-35 = Photosynthesis
Note: You can use thermocol, clay, old newspapers or any other creative material for making the model.
With each model provide sufficient information on an A4 size interleaf pastel sheet.
2. Sow a Rajma seed or any other seed in a small pot and water it daily. Observe the germination of
the seed and prepare a project report on weekly basis on an A4 size sheet.( Note: You can use the
base of an old plastic bottle as a small pot). Bring your potted plant along with the report.
