RAM House Slowly Returning to Normal Repairs are moving along nicely and we hope to be finished with them in the next week or so. Guests and volunteers are once again able to enter the front door and there is more room now in the main area of the shelter. We have a new tile floor and new paint. We appreciate your patience, understanding and help during this trying and chaotic time. Hopefully, it is almost over. St. John Lutheran Builds New Storage “Cubbies” As part of their service during Compassion Week, a group of men from St. John Lutheran Church built and installed new storage bins for our guests. These new bins are a part of the main area of the shelter, which makes them more accessible for our guests and enables them to monitor their belongings more easily. It also eliminates the constant traffic in and out of the front desk check in area, which makes for a calmer, less congested atmosphere in that area. RAM very much appreciates this special project, which has improved our shelter, and the flexibility of the group in getting it accomplished despite the ongoing repair work. Our new tile floor in the main area. New storage bins for our guests. Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Held April 23 RAM’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was held on Thursday, April 23 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. It was attended by about 250 volunteers and guests. Awards were given for the volunteers of the year, the service group of the year and Modern Woodmen presented their Hometown Hero Award to one of our volunteers. Door prizes were also given away. The cost of the dinner is paid by a bequest left to RAM from a former volunteer and RAM is grateful to be able to honor and thank our volunteers by inviting them to dinner. Below are pictures of the dinner, awards presentations and other fun. John Goodhart receives the Modern Woodmen of America Hometown Hero Award. .
