Firearm Export Made Easy 2015 Firearm Export Requirements ATTENTION HUNTERS ... CHANGES HAVE TAKEN PLACE THAT WILL AFFECT ANYONE TRAVELING WITH FIREARMS OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES. The days of simply presenting a Customs Form 4457 on your way out of country and then again on your way back in country are over, as all hunters are now required to register the temporary export of their firearms with the Depaitment of Commerce no more than 120 days before they leave the country. As an industry leader regarding this newly enforced regulation, Hunt With Guns knows the steps required to get your temporary firearm export logged with the Department of Commerce correctly. The last thing that we want to hear of is a hunter being subject to detention, seizure, forfeiture of improperly declared firearms, or worse. Regulations now require that all persons departing from the United States obtain valid and appropriate DDTC or BIS license exemption under 15C.F.R. 123.17-123.18 or a valid BIS license exemption under 15 C.F.R. 740.14 (e). Don't know what this means or want to deal with the hassle of government regulations ... NO PROBLEM! Let us handle this process for you. Rates: $100 per person, per filing. (Up to 3 firearms per individual, as allowed by law.) Know Before You Go • None of the changes that have recently occurred will affect your travel outside of the United States with firearms. The only change you will note is that upon return to the US, in addition to being asked for your US Customs 4457, you will also be required to show an ITN (Internal Transaction Number) from the Department of Commerce. This is the number that is generated after the filing of your Temporary Export Permit that we will provide to you when you use this service. However, if you are asked to present a CBP officer with you ITN prior to departure, you will be prepared to do so. • You are not able to file for an ITN more that 120 days before your scheduled flight. • Your ITN can be filed no later than 8 hours before departure for rifles, and not more than 2 hours before departure for shotguns and muzzleloaders. • Rifle Scopes and ammunition you are taking must be included in the registration process.
