Issue 51 – May 2015 Rancho Bernardo Swim & Tennis Club 16955 Bernardo Oaks Drive/San Diego, CA 92128 Editor/Publisher - Wayne Klusmeier, General Manager Phone: (858) 487-5002 Fax: (858) 487-5004 Website: www.rbstc.com Email: [email protected] The RBSTC Board of Directors Meeting is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Club 21 Room! Wayne’s World - It‘s that time of year again when your annual membership fees are due. Your invoice (purple) is enclosed along with a return envelope. You will notice that there is an increase of 1.5% over last year, due to some unavoidable cost increases. A budget summary is enclosed for your review. We are working hard to control all of our costs to make sure that our fees are reasonable for our members, and also maintain our club in top condition, while maintaining a prudent reserve. I previously had written about our efforts to minimize our water usage. Please help us when you use the club by being conscientious when showering and not leaving the Jacuzzi running when no one is in it. These are small things that can make a big difference! It is our desire to make the club a fun place for the entire family. I hope you will take advantage of all the Club has to offer this year. New this year, we have decided to replace our Cinco de Mayo party, with a family “Summer Kick-Off” poolside event! Start off summer here at the Club, and come and enjoy a fun afternoon with us! Lots of games to be played, and prizes to be won! NEW SUMMER KICK-OFF EVENT SUNDAY, MAY 31, 2015 11 am – 3 pm Volunteers Needed! Sign-up at front office! Lunch will be available for ONLY $1.00 (includes a hot dog, chips, & lemonade) Cash only please! Our snack bar will also be open if you would like to purchase some extra goodies! Snack Bar - Along with our yearlong snack items, we will once again be selling ice cream beginning Memorial Day weekend! Everything is $1! Exact change appreciated! Lifeguards - Starting Memorial Day Weekend, May 23, we will have lifeguards on duty weekends from 11 am – 7 pm and then daily, starting on June 11th! RBSTC BOD Election - Our Club’s annual election for Board of Directors was held in March. Results showed incumbents Don Schmidt and Jeff Berrong were re-elected, as well as newcomer Dave Hadacek. Congratulations to all! REMINDERS: Members, please remember to bring your own membership card when you come to use the Club. This helps prevent congestion at the front gate and minimize delays if the staff does not have to look up your information on the computer to check you in. Also, please consider using the back gate and parking lot entrance off of Pomerado Road. The main parking lot is often full during the summer, but there is always parking available at the back gate. There is a card scanner available there, to help ease check-in. Please be aware that the back gate does not automatically open, someone at our front desk will still need to manually “buzz” you in, just like we do at the front gate. Thank you for your patience. GUESTS - All guests need to be signed in at our front desk. RBSTC Guest Policy limits a membership household to up to 7 guests per day (guest children included). Individual guest limit is 6 times per month. There will be a charge for any additional visits. *Please note, B members may not enter the Club as a guest of another member. SWIM DIAPERS - We ask for your consideration by remembering that swim diapers are only allowed in the wading pool! Children need to be potty trained to be able to have access to the family pool. Each summer, our pool is closed numerous times due to “accidents”, which are a big inconvenience to our members and also a significant cost to the Club. FYI… Summer Tennis Camp - There will be tennis camps for kids throughout the summer. A separate flyer (light blue) registration form is enclosed. The flyer is also available on our website. www.rbstc.com. Class Change - Starting the week of June 8th, our Aqua Bodies (Water Aerobics) class will change days they hold classes here weekly to M, T, W, & TH from 9:30 - 10:30 am. For more information, contact Cindy @ 858-432-4471 or email her @ [email protected]. Lap Swimmers – Please be aware that in our summer months, the lane lines will be removed daily at noon, and be put back in at 5:00 pm.
