The Certificate III in Aged Care is an entry-level qualification that prepares people for the
work environment of an Aged Care facility. As a worker in an aged care facility students
will be required to carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of
living for people in an aged care setting. They will also be required to carry out activities
related to an individualised plan and will typically report directly to a supervisor but not
be responsible for other workers. This qualification prepares students for working in
such an environment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification, however students are required to have a basic
understanding of the use of computers and the internet. Computers are used throughout the
program to access workplace documents, health and safety regulations, medical terminology and report writing and use of intranet. Students will be required to have their background
checked (i.e. Police Check) for the work placement. Students need to check the procedure for
completing this in their own state or territory.
