Your immediate reaction might be to take
your eyes off the road and look up, these
Red Cedars can be 250 feet in height and
30 feet around. There is lots of parking so
it might be better to get off the saddle and
have a look around on foot.

The halfway point is a great place to stop
and stretch, grab lunch at one of its many
waterfront pubs or restaurants, and take
in a view you’ll only find on Vancouver
Island.
Long Beach
Once you are in Tofino, it is only a short
ride to Vancouver Island’s longest beach,
with over 10 km (6mi) of exposed rugged
open Pacific Ocean coast line. This is a
destination for surfers, explorers and
hikers alike. Pacific Rim National Park has
something for everyone, and boasts over a
million visitors a year.

DAY ISLAND CRUISE AND LET THE
GOOD TIMES ROLL
The Perfect 5 day Spring Getaway
If a one day ride to Tofino, one
day exploring the Pacific Rim
National Park, and one day
home, is simply not enough, you
can turn your 3 day ride into a 5
day Island-Tour, often with one
phone call from the road. Here is
PORT RENFREW
our suggestion to extend your
experience.
Once you have ridden through
Parksville heading back east,
simply follow Hwy 1 to Hwy 18
west, about 90 minutes. The
embodiment of the perfect,
picturesque island town, is Lake
PACIFIC MARINE ROAD
Cowichan, the recreation hub of
the region. This is also the
beginning of the Pacific Marine
Road, a now paved forest service
road connecting the Cowichan
Region to Port Renfrew, and will
be part of your ride tomorrow.
ONLY ON THE ISLAND
Port Renfrew, a small
village at the end of Highway 14 on
the southwest coast of Vancouver
Island, calls itself The Jewel of the West
Coast. Here you can experience the
tranquility and beauty that has made
the West Coast famous. Take in the
ocean views and try some of the best
seafood in the world, all part of the
Vancouver Island experience.

Sooke, famous for its beaches,

the southern tip of Vancouver Island,
about an hour west of Victoria. Hwy
14 runs along the Straight of Juan de

the Oregon Coast. With a long stretch
of highway hugging the coastline, it’s a
picture perfect ride.

Victoria, the capital of
British Columbia, boasts many
historic buildings and some of the
best museums in Western Canada.
The area is also home to some of
the country's most exhilarating
scenery. There's an ocean or
mountain vista (or both!) around
every corner, and the city's flower
gardens are famous the world over.
