Dear Centreville Hall Residents: We are writing to provide eligible residents with information about Room Selection 2015 and selecting a space in residence halls for the 2015-2016 academic year. Submitting your Returning Student Agreement is the first step towards participating in Room Selection 2015. The Returning Student Agreement will be available starting February 27, at 3:00pm, at www.reslife.umd.edu. In order to participate in Room Selection 2015, you must complete your Returning Student Agreement no later than Friday, March 27, by 11:59pm. Centreville Hall will continue to house the College Park Scholars Global Public Health (GPH), Life Sciences (LS), Science, Discovery and the University (SDU), and Science and Global Change (SGC) Living-Learning Programs in 2015-2016. Please consult with your Program Director for specific expectations about returning to your program building. Please read the following information to understand your options during Room Selection: First-year GPH, LS, SDU, and SGC Scholars residents are eligible to return to Centreville Hall next year. However, per the agreement between College Park Scholars and Resident Life, all Scholars in Centreville must go shopping during Room Selection. A. When you submit your Returning Student Agreement, you will choose to go shopping for a new assignment. B. You will be eligible to participate in Preference Based Shopping starting April 1, and will select a room in Centreville Hall or a new room somewhere else on campus based on your priority number. C. If you want to be pulled-in by a friend to their current bedroom, you should choose to go shopping, and then accept your pull-in invitation starting April 6. Current first-year Scholars residents from other programs are not eligible to return to Centreville Hall. If you would like to return to the Cambridge Community, you must select a room in your program building. A. When you submit your Returning Student Agreement, you will choose to go shopping for a new assignment. B. You will be eligible to participate in Preference Based Shopping starting April 1, and will select a new room in your program building or somewhere else on campus based on your priority number. C. If you want to be pulled-in by a friend to their current bedroom, you should choose to go shopping, and then accept your pull-in invitation starting April 6. Residents who are not participants of College Park Scholars are not eligible to return to the Cambridge Community. Because the buildings in the community must also house the incoming freshmen for all Scholars programs, non-program residents may not return to the Cambridge Community. A. You will be eligible to participate in Preference Based Shopping starting April 1, and will select a new room somewhere else on campus based on your priority number. C. If you want to be pulled-in by a friend to their current bedroom, you should choose to go shopping, and then accept your pull-in invitation starting April 6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO CONSIDER FOR ROOM SELECTION: A. B. C. Mixed Gender & Gender Inclusive Housing: Resident Life will continue to offer these options through Room Selection. To be eligible, please complete the online training module available at www.training.reslife.umd.edu/GenderInclusiveHousing. Mixed Gender Pull-ins: Resident Life will continue to offer the opportunity for residents to pull in friends of a different gender to fill their current suite or apartment. To be eligible for this option, all returning residents in the unit and eligible pull-ins must complete the online training module available at www.training.reslife.umd.edu/GenderInclusiveHousing. Break Housing: Break Housing is offered in all South Campus assignments and in Elkton Hall on North Campus. If you think you may need Break Housing during the academic year, please consider this information as you make your Room Selection choices.
